southern: Dark Elves Day 2

Today we sold our Barracks and finished our turn with half our forces in range of an Area Guard Spectre.
Not a bad move if you're a Dark Elf and planning to make Succubi. And as Wu Tang says C.R.E.A.M. even if that isn't the plan.

First part of your plan that is. Second part is, as the ol' Wizard says, "folly".

Feel like I'm missing something I'm supposed to be doing.

A daring gambit, and an utter failure of a gambit.

The spectre has 1 hp, silver medal. The fight went like this; abomination entangles it, everything fails to hit it, it gets disentangled, brought down to 1 hp at the cost of one lvl 1 unit. Then it kills four units without taking a hit. Including the abomination, that switched to melee attacks. This is how viteks are created

How nice! Thanks for that gambit, Mr. Dude.

All of our scouts have perished. Pierced by Undead lancers. Someone should put a sign up at that road crossing or something of a similar nature.

That would have been a real coup if it had worked. Sadly, I jumped the gun a little bit, and it did not work. I suspect that Southern and I will be going out in a blaze, but more a blaze of WTF than a blaze of glory.

Sigh.

OOC: I am so SICK of every mapmaker putting area guards in. That spectre is within range of an income structure, but it's 6 hexes away so you only see it when you've captured it. It's like a deliberate trap. They're equally clueless with Earth Nodes, as if they don't comprehend that Earth Nodes have far stronger magical attacks so if you give them Earth Elementals as a garrison no-one is going to bother taking them.

Celederion is especially bad about this. A turn in which I'm not attacked by indies is a turn in which I didn't do any exploring.

Probably giving away one of my game playing advantages here, but we'll pretend I'm drunk and among friends...

Attack Earth Nodes with a single flying unit. For two turns, the node attacks anyone not flying. On the third turn, fly away. Repeat the next day and the next till the defenders are all gone.

Heck, sometimes I'll just suicide a single low level unit later in the same turn to get the node to attack the defenders again when I'm impatient.
Could you resend please, for some reason I have Mimos last turn.
I think I forgot to actually press end turn? Anyhow I opened it up and it was the end of my last turn, so I pressed end turn, and also manually emailed you the file from my emailout
