Narvek: Should be coming really soon (we assume today), but one of our QA people found a bug with the quicksave feature that could seriously break things, so we're fixing that (and testing that fix) before releasing the patch.
Senteria: I hope the new patch won't screw up my existing saves. The only things that will happen are for example that research that was listed previously as taking X turns might now be listed as taking X+Y turns.
The biggest issue is that savegames have to save the whole state of the map, and as such any fixes that are map-specific, such as fixes to certain campaign progression issues, will not show up until you restart from a point before that specific map.
Luckily there are workarounds for those issues too, usually.

I am really curious, if it is possible to give that info, are you saving the whole state as a sum of all parameters for all the savable objects or are you saving a memory state. The only things that will happen are for example that research that was listed previously as taking X turns might now be listed as taking X+Y turns.

DaKarach: I couldn't finish the pirate map with Isabella. In turn 109 the Independant's turn never ended out of a sudden. Also the dungeon with Bormac got raided by the AI (Isaballa) and the "you freed Bormac, he fights for you and must survive " event was triggered. The problem was that he had to fight 2 armies of shadow stalkers to get out alive. I tricked the AI and survived somehow. But then in 109...
I don't really want to play this map again and hoped a fix could help and I play on later...but does your explanation mean that I have to restart anyways?
Sorry to hear that! I don't really want to play this map again and hoped a fix could help and I play on later...but does your explanation mean that I have to restart anyways?
To answer, we fixed Bormac being able to be freed by the AI, but seeing as how you have gotten past that already you don't need that fix.
For the independents never ending their turn I have no idea whether that's a known or a new issue.
Could you make a post in http://ageofwonders.com/forums/forum/help-support/ for us to take a look at.
If you have a save from turn 108 that would be awesome! That really would help us a lot in tracking down the issue. Just upload it to a filehosting site and put the link in your post.
It sounds like an issue that is more structural, so chances are that when fixed you don't need to restart the map but can actually just load the save and continue, but I cannot really tell with any degree of certainty from your description of the issue, sorry.

Just have the same problem with Elven Court's Isabella stage. Turn 82 just freezes waiting for the AI to finish its turn. Not sure what is supposed to move, I suspected the ships at first but now I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I can't continue with the campaign and it's kinda frustrating. Reloading doesn't work, all I see is a black screen and I need to kill AOW3.exe in task manager. Does the patch fix the turn-crash issue?

I started the fourth elven map last night with the pirates. I chose the goblin peaceful side. The orc dude who disagreed left us and then I received a message he was dead (had drowned). He was flying a wyvern over the ocean and I guess lost his mount when he left us? I have continued past this point for a few turns, but I've been a bit worried that maybe this wasn't supposed to happen? I don't think he left us just to drown in the ocean, I kinda got the feeling he might continue to have something to do with the story? Anyone have any idea if i't OK to just keep playing with him dead?

I will make a post at the support forum. There is already a thread with someone crashing at turn 109. Might be not related to the Isabella map then.
@Panzer: I chose peace as well and the Orc just disappeared without a problem. And heroes can swim, I am surprised that there is even a message like that o.O
edit: Never mind my problem. The patch solved the issue somehow. It is now loading to the next few turns without any problem. Thanks a lot :D And it is a nice map, I just don't like that rouge vs rouge play ;)
Gosh, I love AoW3!

Your post cracked me up. I just started in level 3. I already explored 40% of the map on turn 3. I do have financial issues though. I keep rushing to dig in new cities and finding piles of gold to be able to pay my army even though I am on minus. There's this quest where you have to kill this spider queen but... I converted the spider queen and now they're like:
T...that t.t..thing! It's right there in your army! =( !!!
So I can't complete the quest by converting the spider queen. But I like the spider queen. =x Much better than those silly low tier goblins.

Is anyone having any issue installing the patch using the gog downloader? Mine downloads it OK, but doesn't bring up the window to install it. Game is still sat at V1.00 for me...

No issues with the installer, worked like a charm for me. (Windows 7 64 bit). It found the installation folder (which is not standard but selected on my PC) and installed.
Try to re-download the patch, and start it (sometimes Win 7 takes a while to check it, because it 'knows' that you start a downloaded executable file. But it works for me.

Nope, nothing. Tried to restart gog downloader, tried a full on PC restart, even tried to manually find the patch in my downloads folder (nowhere to be found!). Every time I try to manually restart the download, it just defaults to full download progress and doesn't install. I'm at a loss as to what to try next. I love gog but I've had nothing but issues with their installer, it took me multiple attempts to install the base game last week :(

I have a similar problem. I downloaded it via Windows and manually ran the executable. It gives me a message saying AoW3 has been successfully updated, but when I launch the game it still says it it the old version. When installing the patch it never prompts me for a file location, so I don't know if it is applying it to the right folder.

Are you sure, greyhuntr? I started the patch, a small window came up, the patcher did its job and ended. I did not enter my folder location (E:\Games\Age of Wonder III\ in my case).
I also was a bit suspicious - so I checked: The patcher had changed several files, aow.exe and so on, you can see it on the file date which is now April, 8th, 2014.
The game reports a different version too.
One idea for greyhuntr and bwfcnut: If you use Vista or Win 7, and have the game installed to C: (your Windows disk), it could be because Vista and Win7 forbid changing program folders. So try to start the patcher as privileged user, ie. via a right click start as administrator. Or disable the UAC before installing (it can be ere-enabled afterwards). Maybe the patcher cannot write the files in this folder?
I have the UAC disabled permanently, so I never have this kind of problems.
