Does anyone have advice on completing this episode?
No matter what I try I am obliterated by Necron.
Those Dread Reapers appear to be impossible to deafeat even when facing a stack of Titans and my Angel is killed at the start of any conflict.
As for Anon who you are advised to bring all the artifacts you find to he is killed by Necron very early in the campaign.
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
This is the second Life mission of The Wizard's Throne, correct?

Iirc, I brought at least two heroes with me from Life 1 that were as decked out as I could make them, ran backward across the bridge, and basically sucker punched Serena on Turn 2 with my everything. I think I did lose a hero in that fight, but Resurrect Hero is a Life spell that fixes that problem.

That gives you a tower and a decent city right off the bat and I don't recall having any particular trouble for the rest of the mission. Anon didn't die on me; I think he mostly just sat around his base.
Thank you for your answer Bookwyrm627.
I shoud have mentioned this was from The Wizard,s Throne.
I have taken your advice and taken Serena,s city.
Lets see how this helps but I,m still concerned about those blasted Dread Reapers.

I don't remember encountering Dread Reapers on my play through, or even that Necron was present at all (though I do recall there being an extra wizard besides Serena against me). I recall Serena basically being a non-issue after I kicked her out, since she respawned in some side area and never really recovered, and I recall Anon sort of wandering around his lands with a few units. Mostly I remember there being fake items and real items, which was kind of interesting.

What difficulty are you playing on, and how much time are you spending building infrastructure and high tier units? The AI often starts with a lot more structures and resources, and if you push fast and hard then the AI has less time to make use of that infrastructure advantage.

I don't think I used Angels or Titans because they take too long to be able to produce. Druids and Iron Maidens were the units of choice, iirc. Druids come with Entangle and Swimming, and Iron Maidens had Phase, which is great for jumping on trouble, escaping trouble, and skipping walls. T3 units also don't need the full town infrastructure before you can start building them. Look for 'how many of this unit could I have in X turns versus how many of that unit?'; you can also use that calculation to decide whether to build a Master's Guild ("I can build the MG in 6 turns, but it would still take 3 turns to build each unit" or "I can build the MG in 6 turns, which means I get a unit every 2 turns instead of every 3, and I'll be using this city long enough to get a return on my investment").

For the record, my solution to most of the campaign was to send my heroes as far as they could go without being suicidal, exploring and capturing whatever they could find. The first mission of each sphere was slower since my heroes traveled with escorts to keep them alive and feed them kills. When leveling, focus on the basic stats (offense and defense) during level ups, movement options (whether by skills, spells, or items) to allow wider map access, and vision was also great for exploring and spotting trouble early. Certain special abilities were great picks (Extra Strike, Wall Climbing), but some were to be skipped (Fire Ward, Forestry on a flyer).
I finally managed to win this episode.
My mistake in the first attempt was to spend too much time in building up the city on the west side of the river and ignoring
Serenas city giving the undead time to amass a great many units which destroyed Anon.
This time I took your advice and captured Seranas city and then headed north collecting the artifacts and taking them to
Anon.
I went south and managed to defeat the undead city and Anon got rid of Serena and the campaign was won.
One thing that has puzzled me is taking the artifacts to a certain city which in fact I did rebuild but nothing appeared to
happen and eventually reaching the teleport in the south/west corner it was greyed out so I was wondering if I have missed something important.
Still I have managed to win so onto the Life3 episode.
No doubt I will probably need help with this one.
At my age the brain doesn't function quite so efectivly as it did 60 years ago.
Once again thank you for your information.
