Hm... how'd the Orc Wizard die, then?

Arnuz: I try to bring the undead teleporting to the near surface under control. Luckily, there are only swordsmen for now. My druids reanimate a long dead city, and its inhabitants join our cause.

OOC
Another big advantage Southern: evil races can use the undead that pop up with animate ruins, which is going to make it easy to defend against the AI undead.
But Animate City creates soldiers of your own race, right?

Orcs, Day 13

Just lost my only digger and a caster while trying to be tricky, so I went ahead and surrendered. No point continuing when the Dark Elves have such a massive lead and there is no way to catch up or even try to compete for the alternative victory objective.

They have free war boats, Free Movement, and Animate City (despite protestations of no gold). They have also barricaded the Summon section of the caves in a way that makes it unviable to break it within any reasonable time frame, so only they are able to feed the free mana into summons (or Animate City which increases gold and gives more sources for troops) to fuel more conquests. They have the income to keep buying spells and the troops to prevent the remaining two people from accessing spells.

On the bright side, the amount of poison on the surface is positively silly. Screenshot attached.

Agreed, I didn't propose it so far because I'm mounting an expedition against the undead central city and wanted to see if that worked.

How about we start a new one, rotating races?

So that's where all the poison is... There's nothing on my side lol.

Undead. Usually swordsmen or archers.

WTF???? Last time i cast it, I got Dark Elves, because that was the race I was playing. And the AoW+ guy had issues modding this spell to only make undead, instead of its usual behaviour. Is it different in caves vs surface or something??!?!?!? time to test

EDIT: okay, it's your race's city, but undead warriors. I forgot.

The city has dark elves but the soldiers are skeletons. That seems to agree with the spell description that talks about skeletal remains...
Going to keep playing vs the Dark Elves

Day 15, Dwarves

Two Undead Reapers and a Doom Horror have appeared from the Death Altar. Oh blimey!
A force of mine has invaded the Cave of Lore, and is heading for the Stoneskin tower.
Carwyn of the Dark Elves, day 15
Argh. Two undead reapers kill the bunch of archers I had to protect from further skeleton warriors.
I slay one of the two grim reapers at great risk, but the poison clouds are coming towards me. How can we defend from the undead inside poison?
A Grim Reaper has made its way into our caves, but we have walls up ready for it, and archers waiting to take out any Doom Horrors.

I have been gathering artifacts from the ruins of this land, and might be able to fight a Reaper in person.
Ops. A party of 7 grim reapers has teleported almost on top of me...

(does death immunity protect from their finger of death?)

It has Damage Type: Death, so maybe. But it could still be hardcoded to install if it lands.
And uh, 7 Reapers.... lol

The AI is stronger than I realised
Guess you're going to need that income then :p

I had a water walking item. I'm hearing that maybe I could have "won" by just waiting until the AI killed you both. XD

I managed to nab a Liquid Form spell. Plus I'm a dwarf so I could've snuck through smoky mountains in hopes of finding you.
Carwyn of the Dark Elves, day 22

My forces dig all the way to the goblin caves and I discover that they are all occupied by the undead! Even worse, taking a quick peek at the surface, I discover a scary force of 7 reapers, 1 bone horrour and several skeletons roaming on the surface of the goblin lands... There are also some neutral azracs and a frog on top of a town, with as well a sack of magic items, I wonder if the two are connected and that's how and where the azrac leader met his end.

In the meanwhile back home I personally kill three of the invading reapers but apparently my paladin armour's death immunity is not enough to block their life attack! Thankfully I remain unscathed despite two attempts. I'll have to be more cautious and use my priests and spider queens, but these monstrously resistant undead are extremely hard to turn or web. At least I have a plan to block further of them coming, but it's still some way to come...

The undead have enchanted roads, making their forces even more scary!

I think I had Vision 3 and True Seeing on an artifact as well. :D

In any event, it does currently sound like ZFR is going to get his wish.
