Seems like nearly everything is marked as "Area Guards", even stacks that are apparently guarding some kind of resource.

ooc: So what happens to production resources if the closest city is an outpost? What happens if that outpost already has a wooden wall either built or in production?

If the nearest city has built everything it can, then the production resources cannot be used, and will remain there until such time as you walk over them and are able to use them.

Oh yes, maybe it does that. But I do know that if it can't be used at all, then it can be saved for later - ie will never be used for nothing.

You lose the free production resource. And that sucks.

Better to turn back the clock, not take the outpost, take the free building first, and have the new building go to your glorious Frosty Capital in need of only a 200 gold building or two, and then take the Outpost. :-)

Nah, I just tested it and it indeed goes to a next closest town if the closest one was outpost with walls built.

Really? I'd swear that on multiple occasions I've gotten the blank or blank option! I remember being really pissed off and thinking "This is something Vitek would do, so c'mon, you're smarter than this Mimo!"

I don't know then, maybe you had nothing to build at the moment in any of your towns?
Or maybe it is distance related.

I tried the attached setup. Frostling outpsot has nothing to build and it offers me to build things in dwarven town.
I tried to delete it now to see if it is either layer or distance related as capital I have on that map is in the underground and half an map away but it offered me buildings there just fine.
It's only medium map so it could possibly happen if it was even farther but I don't think it would.
EDIT: I just quickly created XL map with full outpost and production resources in the lower right corner of surface and another town in the upper left corner of shadow world and still got a choice for that shadow town.

We have to allow neutrals to do whatever they want. They don't dare to attack my tower but I am not too confident in attacking them in the open either.
So I must await some reinforcements and live without those structures for a while.
