something tells me that purpl doesn't know what true DRM actually means DRM would stop you playing the game at all till you registered. or worse it'd be starforce everyone who hates DRM probably knows Starforce.

I believe this is a major inconvenience. I got that from a review of the game so I don't know if it's true. If it is, than this is a serious issue that needs to be fixed for this game to be GOG viable.

I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that the DLC isn't playable offline... I haven't registered any account/have only used the guest/offline option & the DLC seems to be working just fine for me?

I haven't registered anything anywhere and the DLC's are there and working as they should offline.

The settings thing seems to be a bug so i expect it to be corrected in a patch.

It can be worse. For example If GOG shuts down - you can still play in single player. If that other service shuts down, you won't be able to play LAN multiplayer. That's the result of DRM.

On the other hand If the game doesn't support LAN (or rather it's better to say you can't run your own server since that can work over WAN as well), then it's OK, since you can only play in multiplayer through their servers anyway, and when they'll shutdown multiplayer will be gone. It's not unlike many MMOs out there. Just don't play it if you don't want to. But if LAN is available but you still need their account - that's already nasty. I'm not sure really what's the story here - I didn't buy the game yet.

But that can be changed, and I'm sure if you suggested it they would think about it. From what I can tell Triumph are responding quite well to feedback (though we'd have to wait until patches hit to tell how well), and I'm sure if you suggested it they'd explain either whether they'd do it or why they can't/won't.

There may be sections of the game that are not protected by DRM, such as single player and hotseat. Still that doesn't change the fact that some sections of the game, network multiplayer in particular, is DRM encumbered. Yeah it could be worse, you could have to activate and authenticate or have limited installs, but that doesn't change the fact that you do need to do this for network multiplayer.

Also, I get that for many people they want a 3rd party to broker games, that's fine but give us an option to skip it and still play the game we bought.

Some DRM is not the same as DRM free, and GOG does claim to be DRM free. There is another site where you can buy DRM junk, this commitment is what makes GOG special.

Neverwinter Nights and its sequel have CD-Keys. Just sayin'

You got any idea that I can play StarCraft 2 on single player without internet or any other form of DRM, just a serial key? but not multiplayer.... so StarCraft 2 has no DRM?!?! damn, I'm so f*cking retard, SC 2 had no DRM all this time and I did not knew.... so why the f*ck have I bought so many games from GOG? the DRM DOES NOT EXIST and never will, if I can play single player... soon you will be happy and call it a non-DRM game if you will be able to just install the game without a serial+account+internet+registration.
