So I recently downloaded AoW2 onto my Dell XPS 15 Windows 7 64 Bit Home Edition laptop and I loaded it up...and when I try to play it, the game hardly runs. I can click through the intro cinematic and when I get to the main screen, it will take about 10 whole seconds for the game to register the fact that I am moving my mouse, at which point it will shoot to another part of the screen and remain there for another ten seconds. Clicking on something causes sounds to happen, but again it takes absolutely forever for anything to get done...

I am running it as an administrator in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2...I am really at a complete loss as to what to do here. Can anyone help?

Hi there! Try running the Aow2 Setup and turn off the Use Direct3D check box, or if it is off already try turning it on. See if that makes any difference.
Thank you! Forgive my ignorance, but how does one run the setup? It ran when I first installed the game but I didn't make any changes and it doesn't try to run when I reinstall it.

Run the Config file which is in the same folder as the executable game file. Should be easily selectable in your Start / program menu in Windows.

There will be a start menu short cut to run it. So Start > Programs > Age of Wonders II > Aow2 Setup *click*
It worked! Thanks guys!
