Mimo: Fine... I'm mainly just mad because I've never been able to get past the 2nd or 3rd map in the Campaign.
Which one, good or evil? I don't recall having lots of issues, except for uncertainty. Of course, I think I did a lot of save scumming since I was still learning.

The two times I tried (ten years ago), I got stuck on scenario 2 of the good guys. There is a time limit to reach the end of the map and I was always being too methodical to reach it...

Trying it again this weekend so I'll be willing to play an AoW:1 PBEM game or two. Southern's feelings are getting hurt in our AoW:SM games. :)

Ah yeah, I remember that one. And yeah, I remember having to move a lot faster than I really felt safe doing.

Don't go overland. There's a dragon in the mountains waiting to ambush you.

Either path is fine, unless you stray too far.

southern: I think you could do with a handicap. I can understand being less able in AoW1, but disliking it! The UI and sound and art are all superior, as are some gameplay mechanics.

You can also just kill the other leaders within the first 10 turns before they have a chance to build up.
