High Treason is supposed to come with a map editor, I can't find it anywhere. Patch 1.05 for Direct Action is also supposed to have it, it's missing there, too.

Maybe they can be edited under XP and then imported? There are a fair amount of mods already.

Yeah I would imagine so, most mods already see the GoG edition well enough.
The Steam version actually comes with a Map Editor. I have just tested it on Windows 7, x64, and it works great (when set to WinXP SP3 compatibility mode & when you have started the game at least once before trying to use the editor).

could you upload the map editor with instructions on how to use it and then I can throw it up on my mediafire AOW archive.
You don't need to download or install anything. The map editor is actually the same EXE as the main game.

1. Go to your AOW-HT directory.
2. Copy the ActOfWar_HighTreason.exe and rename it AOW_HT_Editor.exe
3. Set to WinXP SP2 compatability, disable visual themes etc (see attached image).

Then just run that EXE whenever you want to make maps.

You're welcome :)

The Steam version also has the PDF with the editor instructions in the game directory. Could you perhaps post it as an attachment here?

Interesting. There definitely are some differences between the two executables (in the Steam version), but your suggestion actually works for that, too.

Unfortunately, this forum only accepts images as attachments and gives a 'Wrong Format' error for PDFs. I have sent it to Lord_Kane though, so he should be able to add it to his list of files.

Just got it up on there. thanks to you two for help.

Back when I had the disc version, I used a NOCD fix to save wear and tear on my discs, but I found the map editor wouldn't launch. Prior to applying the NOCD, I spotted both EXEs were the exact same filesize. So I tried the rename trick and lo-and-behold it worked!

Also I found the PDF and tried to upload it - I got the same "wrong format" error too. You can find it's contents on the AOW Wiki via Google. (Apparently I'm not allowed to post links)
