I am halfway through the standard non final cut version of the game. I wonder what changes were made to the final cut? Was some contend added/removed/changed?

The content of the Final Cut isn't any different from the normal version as far as I know. A major problem of the original release had been some unfixed bugs, which made the game quite unplayable due to game crashes.

But I installed the retail normal version some time before and applied the available patch. Didn't have any problems playing it 'til the end.

Another addition are the many audio versions I assume. I don't remember having the choice between so many languages.

From Wikipedia: "On December 11, 2012 the game was released on Steam and retitled as A New Beginning - Final Cut. It added achievements, localizations for seven languages and Mac OS X support."

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that no new content was added so there is no need to start from the beginning.

So much for, well, 'fixed' bugs. Every now and then the cursor will become unresponsive to actions so I have to leave a room and come back to get it back to normal, once in a while I mysteriously get what looks like Russian action prompts instead of English ones, and now that I've gone past a certain part the regular save function doesn't want to work anymore - thankfully quicksave still works.

It's a good game alright, but damn if this is supposed to be the 'final' cut it still is a bit of a botched job.

Oh, it wasn't all that bad really. Just a little nuisance, that's all. I was merely pointing out the oddity of it.

I actually just completed the game without any real problems.
