If you multiple accounts on GoG that should work. We save your progress in the campaign using the cloud.

I tested this earlier today, as an investigation into the State of Galaxy and how its requirement for multiplayer may effectively become a form of DRM.

I created a GoG account for my wife.

If I log into Galaxy with her account I can see 8-Bit Armies installed, but multi-player functionality is disabled. But so is much of galaxy functionality. I'm guessing GoG has enabled/developed code for multi user households.
