I'm talking about the original Castle Wolfenstien and Beyond Castle Woflenstien games from Muse Software. Does Bethesda own the rights to those games, or are they still with Muse or whatever's left of that company?

Also, any chance of Keen Dreams coming to gog? I know neither Bethesda nor 3D Realms own that game, but did the guy who does own it at least try to submit the game to gog?

A made a joke abut that the other day and no one got it. :P

My only insistence would be to fix the screech and screen shake they felt was necessary every time you walk into a wall.
I'm pretty sure that the original Castle Wolfenstein has been released as freeware.
Freeware or not, it belongs on GOG.

According to Mobygames, id Software never bought the rights to those two games. Instead, they are being owned by the owner of the company responsible for the development and publishing of those two games; Jack L. Vogt.

Bethesda actually co-publishes the game on Steam.

Source for that? Wikipedia only mentions Wolfenstein 3D as being free in a browser-based form.

Just like the original Wolfenstein games, you'll probably have to do a lot of waiting...

My memory. I wrote that I was pretty sure.

It seems that only the sequel "Beyond Castle Wolfenstein" has been released (including source code).

Quick, somebody call Jack, before Night Dive does and makes these 1980s titles Steam exclusives. ;-)
Been years since I haven't played Castle Wolfenstein on my school's old Apple 2. Good times.

I loved the original Castle Wolfenstien, played it on the Atari800 and loved it, even without a manual it didn't take too much to figure out.

Alas most likely you'll only find it via emulation.

Same here, same system.

I always ended up getting frustrated trying to pick the latch on a box so I'd throw a grenade at it, only to then find out the box was full of grenades and that I had just blown myself to pieces.
I have some memory of Castle Wolfenstein on the Commodore 64. Almost 700 votes! I had no idea it was that popular.

Still protected
Considering how people felt about Wolfenstein 3D's pricing, imagine these showing up on GOG for 10 bucks apiece! :-)

Keen Dreams would be cool, but now that id/Bethesda's come on board, I'm hoping to see the complete series of Keen games here. (Including the sixth episode, which is missing from the pack on Steam for some reason.)
