artphotodude2019: I'm glad this turned out to be benign, but assuming the worst is a life-skill today. Optimism is signing up to be a statistic. Wherever there is money, there is lying/cheating and not even the best companies are immune.
Don't assume the worst. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. If you must assume something, aim for somewhere between the two extremes. The world already has too many conspiracy theorists (a statistic all their own). ;)

Maybe it is for some, but imo it causes more problems than it solves.

(Such as how other people in general seem to assume ill intent or others online and IRL so much these days)

Indeed. Ultimately, when I hear again about "the another daily conspiracy theory", I always remember that when more people involved in a supposed conspiracy the falseness or potential failure of it is more likely.
I have 639 games on GOG, and I'm currently updating my entire collection from last month... only 7 games were updated:

Deus Ex
Observer
Starport Gemini 3
Inside
Terraria
This war of Mine
Universe Sandbox

How do i know? because i call the API compare my current manifest with there and CRC match my collection. Then call the update flags and do a secondary compare and after that a "missing" to collect new purchases... Soooooo Whatchu Talkinbout OP!?

Stop Spreading Fear Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD)

edit: technically the Bloodrayne's were updated too but they were flagged as new games and the old installers were archived.

Each time I go to my library, I see Samorost 2 has been updated, but every time I check the file is identical to the previous one. I've even downloaded and compared to make sure it isn't just the file name that is identical.

Perhaps the notifications each time are for the Galaxy installer version, which I never get ... but even so, why so many updates in such a short period of time ... or maybe it is just a library web page notification glitch?

Older games and some new titles are coming with the galaxy needed files now... they are "2.0" installers indicating they work with galaxy or something.... there was a forum post way back about it. Galaxy also has housekeeping files it grabs for its own use that "may" have start being packaged with the Galaxy installers.

I can understand that one update for a game might be due to a Galaxy only update, but what's with the same game repeatedly getting them in a very short space of time?
