Can it ? Did it ? Has Schiaparelli landed ? Has it exploded on impact ? Has it gone Beagle 2 ? Are the indian radiotelescopes hiding something from us ? Is Mars protected against non-american visitors ? Was it an inside job ?

Still waiting for reports from Mars Express in an hour or so, and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, in two or three hours. Maybe they know something. Until then, let's keep chewing our nails.

Kerbin expresses its solidarity with the ESA.
Queen Elizabeth would be a good start. :D
Poland can into space!

Goodaltgamer: Prince Charles, and he could fly there on his own!
Well, does fart propulsion really work?

Mars Express already in communication with Cebreros about Schiaparelli. What are they saying ? Where is Schiaparelli ? Where is Philae ? Where is Jebediah ?
.@tsrandall @kona404 Interpretation of the @ESA_EDM recording is quite complex - could take more than 30 minutes #ExoMars
Oh noes ! More than 30 minutes !
Well it certainly can. Schiaparelli has Polish mid-infrared sensors for measuring shield temperatures, and Curiosity had Polish laser for LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy - basically just blowing things up with laser and observing what emits light) spectroscopy I think. That our government is rather more inclined to investigate birch and/or wiener explosions doesn't automatically mean that nothing is happening in space science in our country.
EDIT:
As to original question - obviously if you count sub-assemblies Europe already did put stuff on Mars.

dunno thought europa was an ice satellite
and that the monolith is keeping a close watch over it
We can't parallel land for shit.
ESA Operations ‏@esaoperations
#MarsExpress team now processing @ESA_EDM landing recording to extract the trace of the lander's signal as it descended to Mars #ExoMars
YES ! GOOD IDEA ! DO THAT !

Wtf, Schiaparelli, we already did that biome.
Yes, so long as the spaceship is made from potatoes and piloted by a Moroccan refugee.
well, doesn't look good for the lander, does it?

immi101: well, doesn't look good for the lander, does it?
Nope. Doesn't.

Data is unconclusive. They'll have to wait for Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's data, when that one will pop out of the horizon...

So, more news in one or two hours, apparently.

But according to the indian radiotelescopes, that didn't monitor the whole descent, the different slowing stages, (parachute, retro-rockets), seemed to go well. So, who knows...

Can you take Trump and Hilary to Mars and leave them there?
