Ice_Mage: I was pleasantly surprised to see Heavy Rain has achievements. I could be misremembering, but I don't think this was the case at launch. Hopefully they'll add achievements to Beyond: Two Souls as well.
Heavy Rain had achievements from the beginning. One of the assumptions I had read was that Heavy Rain uses the Steam version, so it was possible to import the achievements easily, while Beyond: Two Souls is the EGS version and will probably never have the achievements. I have no idea why they took this confusing approach.
That's too bad. Thank you for the explanation.
Tomb Raider GOTY seems to have some broken ones as well, most of them are combat-related. I always launch the game through Galaxy and have internet connection. It's worth noting that I unlocked some achievements during the same game session as the ones I should be able to unlock, but didn't.

One Smart Cookie: I completed all optional tombs already but never got the achievement. However, its more advanced version Intellectually Superior which requires you to complete all works normally.

Clever Girl: I unlocked all of Lara's skills but it never unlocks. Like before, its more advanced version Lethal unlocks normally.

Big Game Hunter, Feather Duster: I killed and looted many big and flying animals throughout the game, these never unlock.

Sharp Shooter, Gunslinger, Widomaker, Equalizer: I killed enemies with the required weapons but these never unlock.

Predator: I kill almost every human enemy with headshots. Never unlocked.

Opportunist: I stealth kill every chance it presents. Never unlocked.

Picky: I looted every enemy unless they fall off a cliff. Never unlocked.

Former Adventurer: Got the skill, even I use its basic version (not triggering dodge kill) but never unlocked.

Crab Cakes: Killed crabs on the beach multiple times. Never unlocked.

I already 100% the game, but in total, these 13 achievements don't unlock. It's a shame, since without multiplayer achievements this game could be another easy 100% achievements completed.

It's very strange, because those same achievements have been unlocked by countless people I know and have very high completion rates. Well, I'll keep an eye on it.

I know, it is definitely strange. I kinda suspect (though probably not really a good theory) that the major influx of new players due to the TR game being given away kinda messes up the triggers in the server.
IMO it's not "strange" (at least, not if "strange" means that it's a "new" thing) that Galaxy Achievements work for some people with some games, yet those same Achievements don't work for other people with those same games.

I've noted examples of that in posts I've made earlier in this thread, including when it's happened years ago, and I think others have also noted the same thing, also going back years.

I have seen some evidence that Achievements are somehow tied to the structure of your saved games' data, but I don't understand how any of the technicalities of that works.

I have a theory (just from what I can infer from my experience with non-working Achievements for me, but which sometimes work for others, and also from reading the posts in this thread about other customers' experiences with non-working Achievements); my theory is that sometimes certain customer's saved games somehow have their saved games' data get in such a way that GOG's Achievement-processing system can't read the data properly.

But one thing that doesn't make sense about that theory, is that even when I started a brand new saved game, in Mad Max, for example, one of the Galaxy Achievements that you can get shortly after starting the game still didn't work for me even with a brand new game either...which means my saved game wouldn't have had time to become "corrupted," and therefore another factor is surely occurring that is preventing that Achievement from processing properly for me.

I've also posted similar problems with other games too, and then some people have said they have the same problem with those same Achievements, yet others have said they had no problem and they had earned those Achievements correctly.

These matters need more research so that we can finally get to the bottom of what is really going on.

One thing is certain though: a particular Galaxy Achievement working for some customers is no guarantee that the same Achievement will also simultaneously be working for all customers. Sometimes the very same Achievements that work for customer A, do not work for customer B, and that's not a "new" problem at all.

About this... Is it possible that bugs like these are actually tied to our accounts, and not the games' saves? I don't know how these things work though or even if it's a reason that makes sense. Also, were you finally able to get that achievement? And if yes, what did you do?
