They certainly speak highly of GOG. :)
If it turns out well, I will buy Fallout 4 just to get the mod.
Nice. Hopefully this will get more eyeballs on Gog, like through gaming news sites that have articles about the mod.

"Unfortunately the mod's just too big, they (nexusmods) can't host it on their website. Simply put: Fallout London is just too large.
...
But there was light at the end of the tunnel and that came from GoG. We've had some conversations with the technical department over at GoG and we now have a viable way to make the mod available for anyone who owns the (base) game on GoG.
GoG has honestly been our saving grace and we cannot recommend them more highly, they've been utter angels."
Fucking hate Fallout 4, but have huge respect for modders so this are great news, awesome for them!

This is quite nice.
Respect.
The biggest quetion is why they have the knights of the round table in London - they were based in Wales. The place where the round table and the knights were (Camelot) is associated with Caerleon in Monmouthshire.

I demand historical accuracy of the legends used in my post appocalyptic fiction, god darn it!

As long as it doesn't have a female protagonist with a massive chin, I am fine.

Swedrami: https://fallout4london.com/

"Fallout: London is an ambitious, trail-blazing DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4, Bethesda Game Studios’ 2015 post-apocalyptic RPG. Fallout: London stands apart from its contemporaries and offers an entirely new experience: setting a Fallout game outside of the United States. True to its moniker, Fallout: London takes place IN London. From stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a resurrection of the Knights of the Round Table to an uncompromising cult of revolutionaries (and more!), Fallout: London embodies the history and aesthetics of London and puts an unmistakably nuclear spin on the beloved city.

Fallout: London’s development is labour-intensive and involves a plethora of eclectic cross-discipline individuals, both at amateur and industry level. The team maintains a strong sense of professionalism and devotion to the craft. Everyone on the Fallout: London team shares a deep love of videogames, and most importantly, Fallout itself. Each member of the Fallout: London team is individually recruited for their contributions and talent in the realms of game design and modding."

They may want to be careful about putting the Fallout name on their mod.

Isn't Bethesda really litigious about that?

It's a free mod that will require Fallout 4 to play. There are numerous Fallout mods that specifically use the word "Fallout" in their name, why would Bethesda care?

Because in many jurisdictions trademarks need to be actively defended, otherwise you might lose them.
So using Fallout in the name of the mod, combined with the efforts of making it available as a separate game entry here on GoG feels quite risky. So risky that I have to assume that there must be some kind of understanding between Bethesda and the modders.
As far as I know, the deal with Enderal as separate game was also only possible with cooperation from Bethesda.

Otherwise I would recommend downloading Fallout London ASAP, because without a deal, Bethesda will be forced to try to take it down.

Fallout London is not available to download right now. And it cannot possibly be listed as a separate game entry, because, as I said, it is not a separate game, it requires Fallout 4 to play. I'm not sure there is any precedence on gog for hosting a mod that isn't already bundled with the core game, but I imagine it would either be listed in the way DLC is currently listed, or it would be listed as a separate download in the list of downloads available for Fallout 4 here on gog.
Yeah, Fallout : London is an overhaul mod for Fallout 4. It is not standalone, and it is free and still requires fallout 4 so unless Bethesda are a bunch of spiteful buggers (like Games Workshop) there is no reason for them to take legal action.

I don't know why GOG should or would host it, as it is just a mod. I suppose it would be nice to support the mod developers, but in that case, why not host Stalker : Anamoly?

Maybe to entice more people to buy Fallout 4 from GOG? Or even failing that, people would have to create a GOG account to get the mod, and later semi-accidentally buy something from GOG?
They could get the mod elsewhere though, so as a ploy to get people to sign up it probably wouldn't be that effective.

I suppose it could work as a marketing strategy, but then again, there's nothing to stop them from getting the game on Steam and just using nexus, which is how most people get mods anyway.

Look at Enderal. It is a separated game entry here and GoG and elsewhere. You can install it without installing Skyrim.
Of course it’s only available if you own Skyrim, but it is still separate.
