KenMcBreezy Absolutely loved this game, have tried several times over the years to play again... closest I ever got was my brother (also a WarBreeds fan) was able to get it to play on a Win95 virtual machine... with no sound no matter what he tried. I've got a good condition cd and manual, willing to sacrifice it for the greater good of someone with a bigger brain can get it to work so that we can all play

Lunoe I remember this game so fondly. It feels like a relic of an age when games were willing to be inventive with setting and art. Genetically engineered war beasts grown from pod-farm-powered crystal generators? The whole things was so fantastic and different.
TriCykle Would love to see a GOG release of this game. Bought it the month it released and loved every minute of it. Acquiring the DNA of your defeated enemies to craft new types of units, it was just a unique experience back in the day of Command and Conquer Red Alert.
andreasaspenberg2 i have the disc version but, i am unable to get it to work in modern systems without an emulator. it should be possible to fix however. the problem is that neither the develop nor the publisher exists. getting it might be difficult, if not impossible. i would buy it however if they succeed.

andreasaspenberg2 i have used the concept of warbreeds in my all races Warcraft 3 map. warbreeds will not install in 64 bit windows and it needs registry keys to know where to look for the cd.
Legowargamer I have heard people saying that the RTS genre has grown stale, that there is a lack of well executed innovation. Often the best innovation is built on a familiar foundation, as is evident in WarBreeds. Even now, I don't think any RTS has run with the idea WarBreeds started - evolving units that can gain more options from fallen enemies. I'm sure everyone's heard of the phrase "Good artists copy, great artists steal". If the RTS genre is to evolve and grow beyond copy+pasted clones of Starcraft, then the innovative games of the past need to be available to the game makers of tomorrow.
