By Griffin Fathom in mid-1990s for Apple Mac (not sure about PC or not) Released with a MacWorld magazine as a demo CD, which I still have but can't play on my PC. I never solved the riddle at the time but I'd love to be able to come back to it!

The book is almost impossible to find except used at an excessive price, too. I spent quite a while looking for my copy of the book and couldn't find it. There is a website called intotheabyss.net that the author has interacted with that has low-res images of the book, but it wouldn't be the same as this game. The computer game version actually had minor hints in audio form that weren't in the book to make the very difficult puzzle a little easier.
