tom_4070 @xman1 - I'm pretty sure the GOG compat wizards could find a way to invoke a vitual disk drive through an open source mounting tool in a way that is invisible to the end user. And they should! This is one of the goat games from my childhood.

xman1 Like Outpost, this game will likely never appear here on GoG. Why? Used redbook CD-Audio, not a compressed file, so how do you emulate that? You can't really. Upvoted it anyway.

Leviance @Reuding3r - In case you ever see this, there was a patch that had to be downloaded to fix the game crashing on that mission. It was very small - I had it on a floppy disc.

lewiji @KajQrd well the game runs with 144fps no problem but it seems like the physics engine is running at like, 1/4 of the speed it should be - everything is smooth but slow-mo, moving/turning the sub takes ages, it's weird

Reuding3r I have an old CD from the PC Joker magazine from 03/99 with this game on it. Got it working on my retro PC. In one misson the game always crashes. I downloaded an Iso of this game from somewhere and I am gonna try out if it is working there.
But I have an other problem: There is no music playing in the game. First I thought the music was streamed from the cd, so i didnt use the no cd crack and mounted the iso, but there is no music playing either. Could it be some MIDI music and there is something wrong with my Soundcard?
KajQrd I have actually managed to get this game working reasonably well on my computer in both glide mode (using nGlide 2.1) and in D3D (using the ms files from dgvoodoo) and I don't see any slowdowns whatsoever. Direct3D has the unfortunate effect of leaving the system mouse cursor in the middle of the screen but otherwise functions perfectly. And that problem is solved by using nGlide. The settings I am using for 3dfx are running in Vulkan at 1920x1440 (I have a 2560x1440 screen so this is the largest possible 4:3 resolution) at 144 Hz with vsync on.
I do own the game on CD but I still want the game on gog.com basically in order to not have to bother with downloading no cd patches from dodgy sites in order to play the game. But just a heads up for the people saying it doesn't work: It does at least on my Ryzen 7 with RTX 2060. So I would say that should Ubisoft decide to sell it here it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for gog.com to get it to run properly.
MerlinSpreu7103 Bumping. Tried today to get in run on Windows 10. Impossible. It runs with some trickery, but than the submarine and other animated object are in slow motion. Unplayable. It is very time to take this game to the GOG-Catalogue. I miss it hard in your Shop :(
