SaRcAsMRuLeS This and Star Trek: Birth Of The Federation were a childhood addiction. I loved this game! Ever since my XP PC died, I've been desperately trying to beat my newer PCs into submition over the years to get them to run the many copies of this game, several retail CD's some dubious copies and even flat out pirated DL's but all have failed. PLEASE make this happen.

Planet_Killah Really underrated gate with Doom/Heretic/Hexen type graphics and with an inventory system similar to System Shock, etc.
Very faithful to Star Trek, featuring the full TNG voice cast, and not tied down by the movie, actually quite vast with multiple planets.

Captainblaine I've wanted to play this game so badly for a long time. I even bought 4 copies (until I found one that worked) and then discovered that it doesn't run. Totally underrated game with great space combat and cool, memorable first person missions with the cast of the movie.

Medhiv83 common GOG Team ... we all know its textbook gog-material. especially considering the case that the game is now 20 years old and simply won't run on x64 machines, that is the installer. as for the game itself - i'd pay 20 bucks straight up for this one if it worked ^_^

On x64 windows 10 the following process works nicely, and is quick and easy. CD is also not required after awards.
Download toastytech.com/files/Is3Engine.zip as you will need the setup32.exe file from it. Then do the following steps:
1) Extract CD1 to C:\GENS-B1
2) Extract CD2 to C:\GENS-B2
4) Extract InstallShield 3 installer to C:\GENS-B1
5) In a command prompt of current user run:
subst x: C:\GENS-B1
4) In an admin command prompt run:
subst x: C:\GENS-B1
5) Run x:\setup32
6a) Install to C:\Generations with Max install
6b) Don't install DX3a
6c) When installer says, "Please Insert CD #2", in an admin command prompt run:
subst x: /D
subst x: C:\GENS-B2
6d) When installer says, "Please Insert CD #1", in an admin command prompt run:
subst x: /D
subst x: C:\GENS-B1
6e) Don't restart
6f) Registry settings are added to Wow6432Node by installer
7) The game runs/works with W95 compat. mode and with CDs or no CDs mounted.
I found this on DXWnd. Great solution as it works without any controversial process (no fixed Exe required). Video and audio playback is also smooth (at least on my Surface Pro 3 it is)
On windows 10 32bit, you make an ISO of the CDs, then you should install the game as normal (full install) off the ISO, but don't instal directX 3. The game will also require a no cd fixed Exe. Although naughty, it can be found with a search, I'm afraid it won't run without it. You also need to start it with win95 compatibility. The sound in video playback will also be stutters so the x64 solution is better (and less work).
For both versions you still need to click and hold right mouse button whenever you click on "Transport" from Stellar Cartography to prevent it crashing. This limitation is however minimal and easy to manage when you have formed the habit.

Would love to see this game back. I think it would be an interesting challenge for GOG as well as nobody seems to have been able to make this work properly on Windows 7.
CrazyVulcan With Lucasarts/Disney coming around to GOG. I feel that this site could use some Trek love. Interplay was the name for Star Trek gaming in the 90's and early millennials. So I say we bring this up for some new votes. Here is my short list of game that need to be bought back to the comically area, I still play many of these game though my CD's have long since been lost but I will be more than willing to re buy these and leave torrents behind forever.
Star Trek Armada 1&2: A RTS like few others where not only do you have a great campaign to play though but for A2 you can still find places where people actively play the MP. Sure the Borg and 8472 race were way over powered in the 2nd game but good times can still be had here. Plus there are hundreds of Mods available for ships/races and even complete over hulls to other IP's
Starfleet Command; What happens when you take the Pen&Paper Unicorn games from the 80's and allow you computer to do all the heavy math? Starfleet Command! Command any ship from the TMP era or TNG for SC3 and lead your task force in the saving, or conquest of the galaxy. SC2 Empires at War, took the model form the first game and added depth to the single player and by many is considered the best in the series.
Bridge Commander; SFC was fun but what if you could control your ship from the captains chair and interact with your NPC crew? Than this is your game, There are a few mods that greatly extend the playability of this game and are worth checking out.
Star Trek 25th Anniversary: If anyone had AOL in the 90's you most likely received a promotional CD with demos of many DOS era games now available for perches on you windows machine. That was my first Star Trek game and damn its worth the risk of malware to find a decent working copy.
Honorable mentions that I never played but wish I could. New Worlds, Klingon Academy, Judgment Rites, Eliet Forces, Dominion war (Throw in Starship Creator 2 if just to make ships for DW, all be it that "game" was terrible).
We all love these games and want to play them again, but either buying second had is wayyy overpriced for a nostalgia trip or reputable torrents are near imposable to come by. We want to own these games and GOG you are our best hope. Thank you for your time in reading this.
