Spec Ops: The Line (back on GOG)
Spec Ops: The Line is one of the most important games of its generation, and it's a travesty that it's no longer available on major digital stores. I feel vindicated in my decision to have bought my second copy via GOG, thus always owning my personal, offline installer, but am genuinely sorry for people that miss out on the opportunity to play it. I've seen GOG pull off some amazing feats in legal gymnastics and publisher negotiations; please apply that same determination to this game — it genuinely deserves it.
Would it be possible for the licensed music to be replaced with songs that are in the public domain? This game feels like something that future generations should be allowed to play as an artistic window into the era.
Delisted due to the war in the Middle East, not due to expiring licenses.
If you’re new to crypto investment or have been scammed from crypto investment, This is the best information. Many binary operations are rippers. I invested about 105,000usd then I decided to withdraw after several weeks but the withdrawal wasn’t successful, then I tried to contact the binary operation email and phone number, but I didn’t get any response from them that was when everything started looking weird. Some weeks later I got an email from them insisting I should invest more money if I wanted to withdraw my money which I rejected, and I never heard from them again that was when I knew I had been scammed. I was devastated at that moment and felt so bad that my hard-earned money was gone. After some months I came across a lot of testimonies on many bitcoin sites about how Fastfundrecovery8 @ GMAIL com had helped many people recover their stolen, scammed, or duped money on bitcoin or any other form of digital currency. I contacted them and they promised to help me get my money back and asked me for some personal details about the scammer which I provided. The result was amazing I recovered all my stolen money back within 48 hours I was so happy as I never believed I could get my money back. Thank you for restoring Joy into my life after much pain I’m so indebted!! You can contact them via their mail or WhatsApp ( 19037176241)

Edit 2: reason* (region? No, reason.)
Edit: Wow I didn't realize it's been removed EVERYWHERE due to music licensing. (That is an underrated element of this game, it has a fantastic soundtrack. I couldn't believe my ears when it was blasting Deep Purple's "Hush" from like the second level of the game! The main menu has Hendrix's iconic rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, and towards the end there's Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit.")
Truly tragic to see such an incredible work of art shafted for such a silly, mundane region as expired music licenses. GTA IV and Alan Wake managed to escape that particular void. I think the best solution would be to re-release the game without any of the lapsed licensed music, sparing the companies of legal liability, then leave it to unofficial fan mods to add them back in. I would hate for it to lie forever in limbo like Mortal Kombat 9 did just because of the one Freddy Kreuger DLC character.
I got it already on Steam, but it would be nice for those who don't already have it to be able to purchase on GOG, DRM-free. This is imo the best modern military shooter, and I say that as a fan who's played loads of them (and genuinely likes all the CoD's and Battlefields, etc.)
Cerebral, a mind-f*ck, and a real work of art. One of the last few game that were made with a genuine passion, not a soulless corporate cashgrab. I know that sounds like a cliche nowadays, but it really is one of the few games that had a lasting impact on me. Like an Oscar-winning movie or something.
For what you all writting now it was time to buy on gog . I have that game on gog ;)
As someone who got lucky to get it the day it was delisted, I have to +1 this. I enjoyed the game, it wasn't ground breaking or anything, but it was worth a play through.
@Memfis-Pfeffi
"The game should be banned."
By *whom*???
I can only welcome GOG's decision.
The developers who made the game seem to enjoy militairy actions that violate the Hague land warfare regulations. The game should be banned.
I can't believe this. When Valve decided to stop allowing Windows 7 games purchased via Steam to be run on Windows 7, I began re-purchasing ALL of my games on GOG.
Spec Ops is on my list, and I was astonished just now at not finding it when I wanted to see if it was on sale.
I'm disgusted, as I suspect that I will never be able to purchase a DRM-free copy --- or any copy --- of SO:TL ever again.
I don't care about the game personally, but I made this wish to give others an opportunity to vote if they want the game back, in case they want to buy it (having missed buying it when it was here) or want to buy another copy to give away perhaps.

What's with all these comments moaning about the Helicopter scene? Have you guys played this game for more than 10 minutes?
Looked at it again... It is not a good game. The helicopter shooting on rails is just not fun and watching paint dry is more entertaining. The story is not getting me. Maybe some here have nostalgia glasses on.
Not saying don't put it back on GoG, but I don't see big sales for it.
@dogehkiin if you do not like Spec Ops The Line, it is your own problem, and live with it quietly! If in one word, your opinion is worthless.
Almost all my friends like the game and want it back in the GOG store. I want it back also. Even if votes are not so much (I thought that there would be at least a couple of thousand votes, but not all gamers know about this section of the store, unfortunately).
It's an overrated game, put it in if it brings enough dough to finance GoG but it really isn't worth much effort
It's sad that this game has been removed from all stores :( Because the stories in Spec Ops: The Line show the horrors of war and how the morale of soldiers who go through these horrors changes.
I didn't know it was a good game. I thought it was just another military shooter. Until the delisting articles explained. Now I need to buy it to support good game development.

I'm lucky I purchased this gem before it was taken off the storefront. A real shame that 2K isn't interested; it smells of a remaster in the works (and given the record of modern remakes that does not fill me with confidence).
I want to write words of support for Spec Ops: The Line, so hope Developers and Publisher will decide to bring back such a masterpiece to digital stores. The game is a complete blast in the TPS genre, so special in terms of story I can guarantee that it cannot be forgotten even after years.
Really lucky to had come here and grabbed it just as I heard it was delisted on Steam. Hope that most games that get delisted receive thos "delay", on GOG.
I luckily snatched this up the second steam delisted..I am not disappointed.
This game is not really about having fun while shooting dudes. It is a solid TPS, sure, but more importantly it is an essential piece of gaming history. Spec Ops: The Line is a must play for everyone, who are interested in how game is capable to deliver a profound experience that is not possible in any other medium. It makes you reflect, question, and analyse. It is (was?) one of the first of that kind of games. Having received a cult following of sorts, it is probably one of the most analyzed games on youtube, look it up.
Sadly, GOG has no say in this. It was publisher's decision to not extend the licenses.
Is this game any fun? I own it and I got to the part where you are shooting from the helicopter. These kinds of things are just not fun so I dropped it shortly after as I find these on rail shooting just not fun at all.
I tried to find it's store page since I was looking to see if I could find other similar games available on GOG... but I tried to search it and got nowhere and I was like... "Did I actually buy this, or was it elsewhere I bought it? I'm sure it was gog..." and then ended up seeing in the forums that it'd been delisted.
I love Spec Ops: The Line, it's one of those games that wouldn't work as a film, so I mean some pre-warning might have been useful or at least making the store page say 'not available' anymore otherwise it looks like it kinda never existed (and certainly ended up confusing me).
I'd like to see it back but eh, not gonna hold my breath. Guess if it's not available anywhere now anyone I suggest to play it either buy physical used copy on xbox or sail the seas. :(
@Charodiy_UA: GOG can only do so much. If the developer or publisher isn't interested, it's out of GOG's hands.
One of the best TPS of all times (in my opinion). I will make an exclusion and write positive feedback here, so maybe Gog personnel try to do all they can to bring back Spec Ops_The Line to the store. Hey, Gog do all you can at least in this situation! _______________________________________________________________________
P.S. If Gog fails in this situation, and does not bring Spec Ops_The Line back to the store - I will lose all my faith in the Gog project for years!, but not for the DRM-free content system.
I don't understand the need for apparently "emergency de-listings," where apparently nobody can be bothered to plan ahead for these things and give those who want the game one more chance to buy it. Two weeks notice would be nice, a month would be ideal.
Voted. The de-listing (everywhere) was beyond the pale and a dick move by 2K.
