alalabamba @Destro: just today I hat to install Planet Nomads *twice* - after I had to *manually download* the installer from my library because no Galaxy for Linux and apparently not even the GOG Downloader anymore :-(
The first time it just errored out before almost finishing and when I checked it was probably, maybe(!) because it ran out of disk space?!? Since there still is NO INDICATION about the REQUIRED mount of DISK SPACE in the INSTALLER, I just had to guesstimate and luckily I had about 10GiB available so I threw it in and after waiting a second time to almost the end... it actually completed.
So, clearly, this is NOT COMPLETED, yet.

gamesfreak64 show the required amount of space wasnt programmed in the client by default ? I dont use galaxy so i i wasnt aware of it but something basic like that should have been programmed by default: steam client also checks for space before installing so i assumed galaxy had it. Anyway its nice to see they add it now.

Styer27 Agreed, downloaded a game today, size on game page was 1GB, after clicking install i seen that actual size was 2GB. Didn't bother me then, but i can see myself being frustrated by this in the future. I don't see an option to disable non critical game elements. (extras, music, patches, etc)
Destro This feature is now available in the preview of GOG Galaxy Update 1.1. To install the Update 1.1, select "Receive preview updates..." option in GOG Galaxy settings and restart the app after few minutes. This feature will be soon available also to users who don't participate in the preview.
chocx Agree with that requets, today i got a fail message because i haven't enough free space on my HDD for the last update of Witcher 3. but i didn't know how much was require... in game download list the update was 2gb and i had 6gb free, so i didn't understand, after clean a little, download start (after login again) then it show 7gb file download. i might be usefull to show require amount of space.
KazutoEleros Just thought I would mention that this sounds like a great idea, I have only been using GoG for a very small amount of time now and enjoying it but I have already noticed that if you click the drop down arrow on a purchased game, and go to extras it tells you all the space size requirements for the full game as well as all extras, on top of that if you look a game up in the store on the right side there is a displayed space requirement.

i find this useful on steam, i hope it is added to GOG

dizzy_plays This issue is part of a bigger problem: the fact that before you click INSTALL there is no way to know how much it will be downloaded and installed. I sometimes check the "backup" size to get an idea but in the case of Shadowrun Dragonfall for example, the backup is 2G, the install download is 7.2G.
Another related issue would be to not have GOG Galaxy download 7G when the backup copy is 2G. but try to be network efficient.
scottjbrewer1 The game tried to install on my ssd, but there wasn't enough space. I have tried to switch it to my 2TB HD, but it won't go. It says it is downloaded when it is not downloaded. This makes the game completely useless. Anybody help me?

esxboi37 slightly of topic but i haven't dl this yet as i'm building my first gaming pc.. and the one i have at the mo will not enjoy dl a 10g file let alone be able to play a game.. is there a time limit to dl it (it was a free copy with my gpu) or can i just leave it on my gog acc untill i'm ready to dl to my new rig in a few wk's?? thanks guys.. i also have the same prob with my steam.. batman arkham knight copy!
Calmmo1 Yep, I imagine some non computer savy people will be wondering how they managed to D/L the Witcher 3 and how suddenly the non compreesed version being 10gb larger won't fit..

mikkibjerga Would also be nice if I was asked first where to to download and install, suddenly had 30gb less on my 120gb ssd

DV8_IN PLEASE! I run my games off of an ssd and it seems so wrong to just... click download without knowing the effect it's going to have on my system
