Games downloaded via GOG Galaxy take more space than via installers. I think making Galaxy donwload the games in a compressed form would be useful for those with a slow connection.

I have a weird traffic limited connection. Downloading the offline installers is a real pain, and Gog galaxy downloads uncompressed, which is lazy and wasteful. Why no on the fly decompression via zlib????

Are games from it now compressed? I'm having trouble installing GOG Galaxy right now so I can't try it, nor that I had games either…

It shouldn't take much to have the data uncompressed on the fly, tho it would increase CPU usage for the duration of the download.

The past two Witcher 3 patches have been 7GB each. A long and big download by my standards. Had to leave it overnight.

agree, it's horrible for small bandwidth. Wasteland 2 over gog galaxy needs 20GB with compressed installer just 10GB.
