| Hi GOG users! We are updating our legal documents – our User Agreement, Privacy Policy, Copyright Policy and Cookie Policy – and updating our data protection arrangements. We wanted to explain why, what, how and when. Why update the legal documents? (1) To reflect an internal reorganisation of GOG’s business as part of which it will relocate from Cyprus to Poland – this requires us to make some edits to our legal documents. You can read more about the reorganisation below. (2) To implement latest international legal requirements and generally to keep up to date with best practices. What is being updated? You can see updated documents here linked in .PDF as a pending version under the text of the relevant policy. More about the reorganisation and its impact on our data protection arrangements In the beginning of November GOG Limited – the owner of the GOG.com platform – is going to merge with GOG Poland sp. z o.o. (a sister company within the CD PROJEKT Capital Group). In effect, GOG sp. z o.o. (registered seat in Warsaw, Jagiellońska 74, 03-301) will become the owner of the GOG.com platform and the data controller of your personal data. Fear not, your personal data will continue to be used for the same purposes (basically to provide you with GOG services) and within the same scope as before (information which you supply us via our services). Provision of your data is always voluntary and you have the right to access and correct your data, and to request that your data be deleted. If you want to know more read our Privacy Policy. Are you sneaking in some kinds of stealthy changes to how GOG works? Not at all, but you are welcome to check the documents (using the link above) if you like and ask us anything about the changes. There is no change to how GOG operates or what rights you have – we remain true to our principles by offering great DRM-free games, and the best deals we can give you. How are the updates being implemented? We are notifying you here about these changes and providing with updated versions on the GOG.com website . The changes will take effect within 30 days from that date of notification (more information about that is in the User Agreement). What if I have questions? Please contact us and we’ll be happy to help. | | |
