We start Good Old Games Week, where until May 8th, 10 PM UTC, you can take a trip down memory lane and relive some of the greatest video game classics of all time with discounts up to -90%!
There's nothing quite like the nostalgia that comes with playing a classic game. Remember the excitement of loading up your favorite game, the sound of the disc spinning, and the thrill of immersing yourself in a virtual world for hours on end? We certainly do – after all, some of those beautiful titles are what made us fall in love with gaming in the first place.
We asked our employees to pick a few of those and we thought it would be a great idea to look at some of the answers that were the most popular and reminisce of just how much we love them. Let’s see what they are!
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-75%)Well, who would have thought, right? Heroes of Might and Magic® 3 was released in 1999 and it quickly became a fan favorite. Now it’s an absolute legend with one of the biggest cult following. What is there to say – we build and manage cities, recruit armies, battle enemies and while doing so, we experience the peak of gaming joy. Timeless and beautiful graphics, challenging gameplay, one of the best soundtracks ever made. It is still extremely popular and is still giving amazing memories to all its players.
Beyond Good & Evil™ (-70%)Released in 2003, it is an action-adventure game with one of the best critically acclaimed reception. The game followed the adventures of Jade, a young photojournalist who uncovered a government conspiracy. It’s groundbreaking for its time diverse gameplay elements, including stealth, vehicle combat, flying and shooting photo, awesome, helpful and memorable sidekicks, as well as great visuals and a breathtaking soundtrack all created a masterpiece that is still a pure joy to revisit.
System Shock (-85%) and
System Shock 2 (-75%)Both classic first-person action-adventure games that have gained a cult following over the years. The game’s features such as a unique mix of first-person shooter gameplay, role-playing game elements, and puzzle-solving, all set in a sci-fi world, was truly something ahead of its time. Their storytelling, delivered through audio logs, environmental storytelling, and engaging characters, was thought-provoking and often dealt with themes such as transhumanism, artificial intelligence, and the dangers of technology. System Shock games are also beloved for their legacy and overall great influence on the gaming industry as a whole. Oh, and we absolutely cannot wait to play the upcoming remake of the original entry!
Diablo + Hellfire (-20% until May 2nd, 10 PM UTC)The masterpiece that truly started the ARPG genre. Its dark and atmospheric world, challenging gameplay, and engrossing storyline captured our imagination and refused to let go. We spent countless nights fighting through its dungeons, battling hordes of demons, and collecting treasure beyond our wildest dreams. And still, after all those years, we find ourselves returning to the original Diablo’s dark and twisted world and still can’t get enough of it.
Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™ (-50% until May 2nd, 10 PM UTC)It’s a horror RPG that not only gives us a rush of nostalgia and emotion but also a rush of blood. Literally. And it’s way more than just a game – it’s an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression in our hearts. Dark and moody world, complex characters, intricate plot – The Masquerade immersed us in a world of vampires, intrigue, and danger, and we loved every moment of it. The thrill of sneaking through the streets of Los Angeles and using vampiric powers to stay hidden from humans and enemies alike can be still felt as strong as ever.
