mr_daruman: Currently Wiz8 does not run on OSX high sierra unless you go to contents>resources>game>wizardry8> wineskin. set screen options > uncheck Auto Detect GPU.
Now, a nice upgrade I have found:
Go to the Wizardry 8 directory by right clicking "show package contents" (contents>resources>game>wizardry8>drice_c>programfile>Wizardry 8
Open with TextEdit >3DVideo.CFG
Replace Glide2x with OpenGL
set the resolution at 1024 x 768 from the 800x600
set bits at 32 instead of 16. Quite a great graphics improvement, check out the clouds.
Now if you launch the game everything will work except for the cutscenes.
Go back to the Wineskin wrapper (contents>resources>game>wizardry8>Wineskin) set screen options, and check Use mac Driver instead of X11. Uncheck Decorate windows.
Everything should work beautifully and super smooth. In the game I uncheck Mip Mapping, it makes things way to smooth for my taste.
Enjoy!

We are working on updating macOS games from our offer that make use of Wineskin, but there is no ETA when we will finish. Thank you for posting such good workaround in meanwhile!
