Tried to create a new character, got a message to run INSTALL, tried running the INSTALL.exe in the MARTIAN dir, and got a popup about it not being compatible with the version of Windows I'm running (Win7 64-bit btw). Any help would be appreciated.

weird, did you download the newest version of these games? as there was a issue with the versions they had up earlier today which has been fixed, try uninstalling the game completely and redownloading the installer and re-install

You need to run install in dosbox.

[EDIT] or just uninstall the game deleting all savegames and reinstall it.
