JackStillAlive: I also got lot of FPS problems, even with Vsync off...
This is a joke!
CD Projekt RED: "We are a PC centric team, and we won't fail our game, like other devs did in 2014"
Now: PC version got lot of optimization problems, keybinds are barely customizeable, PC PORT IS HORRIBLE!

Beligerent: I bet it's your PC that's horrible... I am having zero problems with the game. Also, WSAD is the most common keys to move with in a game, can't believe I'm seeing so many complaints over that.
My so horrible PC runs every 2014-'15 game on High-Ultra settings in 1920x1080 and still get smooth 60fps, except for this, Dissapointment Simulator 3: The Wild Port
There are other things you can do to increase performance. First you can make sure you turn off realtime antivirus scanning. Along with this you can disable the aero theme for windows and save quite a bit of ram on this. Make sure any unnecessary processes are shut down in the task manager. Disable your network adapter since you'll be playing a single player game. Also you can use FXAA instead of standard AA to save some horsepower. That can be changed in your advanced 3d settings of your cards control panel. Make sure the only thing you computer is doing is running the Witcher 3 and very little on the sidelines and you will notice a FPS jump for sure. I'm running almost topped out on a GTX 770 and an AMD quad core with 8GB of RAM. I'd say i'm adveraging 30 - 45 FPS.

What are your specs?

Interesting mine is a 6970, I only got to test a bit before bed last night but I seemed to be able to run it well too. I'm only going by what people have told me, but the specs they gave for AMD cards was apparently higher than the Nvidia ones, suspected to be because the game was optimised for Nvidia. I suspect they may have overestimated what was needed due to not testing them as much maybe.

Yeah, I have GeForce GTX 680, AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor with 8.00 GB RAM of memory, and have had zero problems running the game maxed out with added tweaks to make it look even better. So, I'm kinda thinking they exagerrated what was needed for Nvidia to get people to buy new video cards.

ASUS STRIX DirectCUII GTX 660 3GB Overclocked
i5 3470 3,20Ghz, boosted to 3,40Ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
I want to help contribute here if I can... here is my rig:

MSI 990FXA-GD80
AMD FX-8350 4GHz @ 4.71GHz (stable)
Corsair H110i (liquid cooling)
8GB G.Skill DDR 1866MHz @ 1640MHz (matched to mainboard OC)
Zotac NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB RAM (custom PCB)
Mushkin MKNSSDCR480GB-7 480GB SSD
Seagate ST2000DM001-1ER164 2TB HDD
Corsair HX850 (850 watt gold certified power supply)

Witcher 3 plays great for me at 1920x1080 on Ultra, with the exception that I always turn off Vsync because of input lag.

Why are you complaining if your GPU meets the MINIMUM game requirements? Did you look at the quality of those games you ran so smoothly? Where they open world? Did they have so many details to handle? I do not meet minimum GPU requirements myself. I run the game on a mobile GTX 765 and get stable 25+ frames on Low/Medium in lower resolutions. Optimization is bad? Naaaaa...I don't think so.
I swear I've never seen a game like this.

I tried to play A LOT with configuration files and... no difference on fps. I hope in the future (let's say next year) there will be some huge guide at Witcher 3 configuration files, because there's a lot here for performance.

Anyway, great DX 11 optimization. This means DX 11 is heavy for real, heavier than DX 9. I know this sounds obvious, but not for everybody.

I read the witcher 3 will get dx12 support. Wonder if that's true. And if so, how this will change the performance or look.

I got a 970 and set everything to ultra except hairworks and the game is running extremely smooth for me, I haven´t experienced any frame drops at all.

Until a couple of weeks ago, CD Projekt RED said that they stll don't know if they'll use DX 12.

Anyway... everything depends on how they use it. Probably they'll only use it to add graphical features, which are heavy. Not as heavy as if they were on DX 11, but yet heavy. The only way to optimize Witcher 3 more than it is, is to use pure DX 12. Which means a complete rewrite, some said. I strongly doubt CDPR will re-do the job.

wallwork: yes.this game need a realy Big Performance patch... only rich players with TITAN X can run this game smoothly...
I have a very smooth experience on a single GTX 980. And I am not talking about framerate but subjective smoothness. I have no Idea where FPS are at during me playing, but all in all this game runs perfectly. No odd slowdowns or the like for me so far and I have been playing some time now.

And I am talking about auto detected Ultra settings plus hairworks.

Lol seriously? This game runs smoothly with a gtx 980? Amazing!
