It's just a niggle, but I get no animation during the intro. Does anyone know how to get the animation? I am running the game from the GOG default.
The PC version of Starflight 1 is pretty lackluster. Are you sure there is any animation during the introduction? Maybe a planet rotation, but that's about it as far as I remember.

I have seen on You Tube where the planet rotates and a "space cloud" approaching toward you. Every You Tube video showing the intro has had this animation.

As I say, it's not a game killer, just a niggle, but wondered why I had no intro animation when YT video's do!:)

Better late than never...

It's the graphics mode. The zoomed-in swirl and spinning planet are in the Tandy/IBM PCJr graphics mode, not the EGA one. Go into the DOSBox config file and change the machine type to "tandy" (instead of "svga" or "vga" or whatever). Then make sure you select the RGB graphics mode when the game starts, as EGA won't work anymore.

Hope this helps.

Thanks thanks THANKS! It worked! Don't know why GOG doesn't have the default conf to show the animation rather than not, but thanks for your rescue BIG rep for you!
