TheSarge.813: Hey all. :)
I'm having a small sound problem with XWA.
I installed it yesterday, after the updated installer was released, and played the first three missions. Everything went down without a hitch.
Today I sat down to play some more, and... Something's gone wrong.
I have no in-game speech and no in-flight speech, engine sounds and blaster/combat sounds. Just music.
And between yesterday and today, NOTHING changed. The same system, the same install, the same flightstick, the same Pilot. No mods installed, no changes to anything. Yet... No sound.
I already tried setting it to only single-core affinity, but that didn't help. I got Emkay to read out the mission briefing, but as soon as I entered the ship, it was back to "no speech, no engine sounds, no combat sounds" again.
It's playable, but... Only barely. Missing all those sound cues is kind of draining the joy out of the game, to be honest.
Anybody got any ideas?

Try uninstalling the game and re-installing it. Did you happen to have any Windows updates install in the background between the time everything ran well and the time you started experiencing this issue? Yes, I know you wrote that nothing changed but it never hurts to ask :)I'm having a small sound problem with XWA.
