Hello everyone, I bought Silent Storm Gold on GOG quite a long time ago, and played the hell out of it. Yesterday I installed it again and had it ready to play today, well I start up the game and I obviously maxed all graphics settings, this game came out years ago and like I said before I have played SS on this computer before. Well, upon starting the game I notice that it lags like none other when playing, its really weird lag too. If I keep the camera still and move my mouse around its fine, (60 FPS) but right when I start to move the camera it drops to literally 10 FPS. I really want some help fixing this, I love this game and want to play it some more. Thanks!
Specs:
AMD FX 8350 @ 4.4 GHz
Nvidia GTX 660 TI
8 GBs of RAM

Note: Other games work fine (Arma 3, Dota 2, Company of Heroes 2) at either maxed or very high settings...basically the usual 660 TI limits.
Sentinels lags as well.

Try older GPU drivers.

the 2.0 installer adds a fix for shadows but it tanks the fps some nivida cards, I have the same problem as well. If you still have the old 1.0 installer on your hard drive installing 1.0 will work, If not maybe you could ask gog what files where added and if you could remove them yourself.

Just use "setvar gfx_cl_sky_textures = 0.00" in ...\Silent Storm Sentinels\cfg\s3config.cfg and you'll get 3-4 times higher fps with no significant quality drop

A lot of people get problems if they are running win7. Search Google for Silent Storm Game Fix and go to the page called at johannes-bauer(DOT)com. There's an executable video fix there u can download. I can definitely say that it solved my problem with running SS on win7, hope it helps!
