sirdilznik: I got it working on my Xubuntu machine. It was almost certainly a case of missing 32-bit lib(s). Which lib(s) exactly I couldn't tell you since I went with the shotgun approach and installed wine:i386, figuring that even though I haven't used wine in a really long time, I probably will sometime in the future, and installing the wine:i386 package installs pretty much every 32-bit lib under the sun.
