Holy hell this level is frustrating! You have to complete 4 challenge rooms in order to progress. Did the lava room alright but the bouncing platform bit makes me feel like i'm gonna throw up.

Now i understand what PCWorld meant when they said that "First-Person platforming is still terrible"

So does anyone have some tips or maybe a fly/ghost cheat so that i can get this level done and get back to shooting the bad guys.

Yea, the platforming in this game is horrible, it requires you to be so precise and what with platforming already been bad with FPS games, the addition of such doesn't help. Also the controls could never be used for something along the lines of precision.

I kinda figured out that with most of the platform bouncing you just kinda have to wing it and move toward where you wan't to be bounced from next, but this is ideal for only half of the time. You kinda have to take everything slowly before hand and be sure of where you would land ideally etc.

If you wan't to cheat then go into the console and typed in "dipstick" then go back and type in "fly". To turn fly off type "walk" into the console.

Activating cheats will remove your score, stop your timer, etc.
I'm at this level and I'm on the edge of desinstalling the game.

What the fuck were they thinking ? Horrible platforming combined with NO FUCKING SAVE ?!

I beaten 3 of them and needed a pause. So I quit the game and went off to eat, I come back, do the fourth... THE THREE BEFORE WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE CHECKPOINT. I'm supposed to do them again while I was pissed out of my mind the first time ?

I'll try activating the console and finding a cheat to skip the level. I want to shoot things, not play Super Meat Boy : Sadistic Edition.

@Sinder87 : Oh, thanks for the cheat, I'll do that.

What difficulty are you playing on? Easy/Normal has a checkpoint between each of the challenges. I scaled the game down to normal for that level from the level select.

In the manual it says this:

"ATTENTION: Due to the unique nature of The Room (E2L2), and Circles of Fire (E4L4), loading checkpoints from the Overworld instead of using Resume Game will reset your progress"

Unless i'm mistaken i think that means that we need to complete these 2 levels in one sitting

A save function would have been a welcome addition in my opinion.

where can i find the manual? it doesn't show up in my rise of the triad download section.
besides the game files i can access wallpapers soundtrack sample, avatar and artwork only.
It's in the install path

called rottmanual.pdf
If you do resume game you should be able to continue if you load you need to start from the beginning.

With practice I found that level pretty awesome. The challenge rooms are easy compared to the secret hallway you can go into after you done all the 4 rooms.
To be perfectly honest, I had no more trouble with the platforming in this game then I have with platforming in any game. first person or not. Sure, it took me dozens and dozens of tries to get through that stupid fire room, but it also takes me dozens and dozens of tries to make any progress in Mario games :P
Bouncy castle didn't cause problems. TBH ROTT platforming ain't bad at all. Basically my character dies because of npcs rather than because of the wrong timed/spaced jump.
I don't have issues with the platforming, but I played a -ton- of bunny track maps in older FPS games. There is no doubt an audience that loves first person platformers, otherwise those maps would have never existed.

I wouldn't say I love them, but I've never felt as antagonistic toward them as some people do. I made it through the last levels of Halflife, I liked Mirror's Edge... I even enjoyed some of the parts in RoTT 2013. The bouncy disks are fun.
Found a couple ways to beat the level easily with no cheats :

first way : rocket jump to the end without completing any of the stupid challenges -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shEcFWF_85U

second way : beat only the Bouncy Castle and grab the powerup that enables flight + fly to the level exit -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9LrgBcuvD0

Loved the Rott 2013 so far but this E2L2 level is pure shit.

Ooh, neat. I'll have to try both of those :)
