Luckmann: Well since I have your attention, well, at least you seem to check the thread, I must ask: How come that GOG patchers and patch numbers almost never (ever?) match the game versions? Is it because you assume 1.0.0.0 on release (or 1.0.0.1 or so) and then just count upwards?
It leads to a lot of confusion. It's a problem with Steam, too, where the less intellectually inclined have just started with "Update 1", "Update 2", "Update 3", etc. It's super-annoying when you actually need or want to keep track of version numbers that the application/game itself actually uses.
sailmaker.769: This, a thousand times this. GOG, please do whatever it takes to make the version numbers of your patchers match the vendors' version numbers. It leads to a lot of confusion.
