Has anyone else had "SEVERE" trouble trying to finish the Overseer's Photo quest??? I've tried resetting the quest, and am really upset that after accepting the quest, it won't show up on the Log - I've finally given up trying in Normal mode and am only doing Creative until they get things at least "Half-Way" fixed...

To me, the glass cuboid rooms are the MOST important blueprint (Base building is REALLY important!) and making this the last thing we get is a problem I just can't seem to conquer - I don't know if the Blueprint Analyzer will offer the blueprint, but without it - I'm virtually screwed trying to get any further.

Playing the Creative mode definitely has it's advantages - but I'd rather be playing Normal mode - it's just not the same without the challenge...

Even in the Creative mode, where I'm able to use the Glass Cuboid Rooms, I still fight "placing" the rooms - Is anyone else having problems with "phantom" rooms messing everything up?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the game, but it's got more bugs than a McDonalds...... And sometimes it seems Hello Games doesn't care about much more than screwing it up as much as they possibly can.... This company is making TON's of money - can't they hire a few people - Especially for Public Relations????

Their biggest problem right from the get-go was their LACK of communication - and I haven't seen any improvement iat all since then - If they can't take care of the problems - maybe they should think about selling the game to a company that can???

Thanx for putting up with my ranting - I just want to see this game succeed SO damn bad!!!!

Yeah, I gave up, put the Overseer off in a room where I won't see him.
(The forum wouldn't post this with the "quote" tags (too many?), so no quote tags.)

Not much help but no, it kind of progressed okay. Wishy-washy answer, I know. ;-) I seem to recall that it did sometimes take a while for the target type (desert planet, airless planet, etc.) to show up in the lower right corner info message.

Perhaps try running a mission or two from the Mission Listings Agent at the local space station. Since those should show up in the same list, maybe putting one or two of those in the queue would push the Overseer's mission into view?

I'm pretty sure that every available blueprint can be dumped from the Blueprint Analyzer. I believe that there were some that I thought I already had from the Overseer which I had to "accept" from the Blueprint Analzyer in order to keep it working through its list of available blueprints.

If I'm recalling this correctly then the lack of communication, no official guides/walkthroughs, tricks'n'tips, etc. is intentional on the part of HG. The game is, at heart, about exploration and discovery. Wake up clueless on a random planet next to a ruined spaceship. How did I get here? What do I do now? They wanted to encourage a community effort of solving the problems. Sort of a meta-game: You are in a simulation, you are the Traveler, work with your peers to solve the puzzle.

Or, they're like 99.9% of software developers and the documentation will be done Real Soon Now, as soon as we Finish This Patch. ;-)
I remember well that similar problems with these quests were in Pathfinder already...Fact is you must do the mission asap without doing 'other things', go straight for it, end it and on to the next one...

A workaround for any such problems is always: if the mission is screwed-up, fly to space station, reload autosave and go to the mission place again (works well with depot missions). Doing so the mission objects are reset and you can try again.

Just a side question about the Blueprint Analyzer: do you know if it's intentional that there are only 2 pages of items that show and in order to get more to show up you have to end up 'buying' building items you may not particularly want? This makes one more item appear at the bottom of the list. You have to keep repeating this in order to see new ones. I don't know how many modules I've wasted 'buying' stuff I know I'll never use just in order to see something pop up- that I actually want (like metal roofs, for example).

Yes, although not necessarily from the bottom of the list. If you choose a construction item then you can (may? should?) get a new construction item in that slot. So, all of the wood bits, concrete stuff, etc. can be acquired before you finally take that awesome bunny decal. ;-)

Shit. I should have experimented with it a bit more, i guess. Just assumed you had to take from the bottom of the list. I do now have that bunny decal, alas. Thanks for the info though!
