My game starts, and loads shaders for like 5min, then crashes the game or crashes game and gpu driver.
Disabling texture streaming doesn't help.

specs:
ryzen 1700x @stock
Fury-x @stock (latest driver, tried couple older ones 's well.)
16GB DDR4 2933MHz

No other game has those issues... even ones that are highly/more demanding, than nomansky.

Try deleting the shader cache to force it to be rebuilt. I usually just rename the existing one to a .BAK and create a new empty directory with the correct name.

If that doesn't work, or if you've already tried it and one more brick thrown at the monitor will crack the screen for good, then you can try running in a non-full screen mode. If *that* works, then try moving up from there.

The graphic settings are accessible without having to get the game up and running. Go to:

(somewhere)\GOG Games\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS and open TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML in a text editor. (As per usual good practice, save the original in a .bak file first.)

There may also be some Radeon settings that work the magic but I'm running an nVidia and am not familiar with how to set application-specific tweaks with the Radeon driver.

already tried those, removing shadercache only fixes it for first run. Then it gets broken again.

Have you tried deleting the contents of the cache folder? Delete files only, not the folder.
Users\<Insert User Name Here>\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\DefaultUser\cache

If you are using the GOG Galaxy Client you might also try right-clicking on the game icon in the Galaxy panel and then selecting Manage Installation > Verify/repair.

Have you tested to see if your save game file might be corrupted by either starting anew or by reverting to an older save? You should back up the save files just in case as temporarily playing might create too many saves.

EDIT: The text editor really messed up the first two lines with poor right-justification. Hopefully inserting a line break will allow this to be readable. Also clarified that the files in the cache folder should be deleted, not the folder and by the way I just did that (clear cache files) myself to make sure that it works.

yeah, i actually did clean install... completely removed saves etc and the cache.

Sounds like the graphics subsystem is generating the correct run-time information. When it tries to load saved shader data it crashes. Apparently what ends up in the shader cache is doing Bad Things.

I would try altering the graphics settings so that, perhaps, the runtime and cached shader info are both happy. Might take some experimenting with the various settings, AA, anisotrphic filtering, etc.fo find one that doesn't die with loading the cached info.

On the other hahd, you could always just accept that there's weirdness afoot and just kill the cache before starting each round. Shouldn't take a huge amount of extra time. A PITA relative to not having to do it but there are days when I marvel that these crazy boxes work as well as they do.

I had an issue when using one of my oldest saves from the first release with one of the newer (Pathfinder iirc) update versions. I had to start over (which i was ok with).

I would check out the reddit thread for NMS (and maybe the Steam one also) as i think other people have had this kind of issue also. If it is this it is not a GOG version specific issue more than a general problem some people get.

However if you are saying a complete new game in the current version you are running works once but won't reload that sounds like a different issue.

Have you changed hardware at all? I ask as you need the right kind of GPU and driver to support whatever the latest version of OpenGL your current version of NMS requires.

Have you checked to see if some of the "Can I Run It" routines show if you might have problems?

I use the System Requirements Lab test: https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/. There have been a couple of times when the developer's minimum requirements showed that I couldn't run something but System Requirements Lab showed that I could and often without sacrificing graphics settings.

After making my earlier post I ran this test for a game that I thought was pretty graphics intensive and although it looks great, the gameplay is poor and therefore I will pass. Ran the System Requirement Lab routine in IE11 and after the testing was complete there was a very short screen (two seconds maximum) showing three check marks indicating that it would run on my computer. Redid the test in Edge and was able to review the entire report. It came back with a warning and recommendation that I needed to update my graphics driver because it was not the most current version but this is purely intentional on my part.

Mentioning this because this test or check for compatibility checks more than just the model numbers and delves a bit into system configuration.

I'm well over the spec (even the recommended ones)... with the original release i had over ~80ish FPS on highest settings @1440p.
