So, I installed the NWN1 GoG version, and was looking into potential graphical improvements I could add. (Please list more that you might know of that automatically, or fairly easily work in OC, SOU, HOU, and KM. I am not prudish, so things that might be considered "sexy" aren't an issue either. I find "Summer Attire" for NWN2 to be rather fair on some of the outfits.)

Currently, I am looking at NWNCQ, Project Q, and NWShader. The first one I downloaded was NWNCQ. It has been a long time sense I have done NWN1 modding, so I have forgotten some things. For instance:

1) Do you install override files straight into the override directory in the root folder? Or is there an alternate location like NWN2?

2) Can you keep files separated by folders, like in NWN2, or do all the files need to be directly in the override?

3) How do you install NWNCQ? The instructions made little sense. I dropped the folder into "override", but there is a batch file also, that I find confusing. Running it lets you select options, but I always get "Duplicate or Missing File" type messages.

----These Top 3 for the voting of best answer to the "questions"------

4) Other visual enhancement mods? Premade module patches that add Project Q to the main game? +Poly would be great. +Tex would be really nice. +Alternate textures/effects would be interesting.

OC+Expansions can be a pain... Modules are easy. Download Module.. Read Hakpak list, Download Hakpaks...done.

Anyway, All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

1. Yes. NWN1 does not have a library folder like NWN2.
2. Because of 1 (above) no.
3. That depends. It's a modular hak package, so depends on your needs. If you don't want the sci-fi element but want the rest, download from here and read the instructions.

Indeed. Which raises the question -- why are you trying to improve the official campaigns? Many/most custom campaigns already have these graphical improvements built in with their hakpacks and messing around with overrides like this isn't necessary. And presumably (hopefully) like 90% of your NWN time is spent with custom content, so...

Nostalgia runs with improved graphics, basically... Still love Deekin.

FYI... It is not the Hakpak I downloaded, but the override version from Neverwinter Vault.

Edit:
I think I got it... You move all the main files + folders directly into override. Then you open the batch file. All items, except "Plus" stuff start as enabled. Then you can Disable stuff to move it to a folder so it remains undetected, or move the "Plus items" out of their folder into the override to make things even more shiny.

Not too tough now that i understand, but it sure felt like a doozy, initially.
