I'm trying to obtain the Bronze Key from the crazed wizard in the cave of the Sorpigal area C2. According to the Cluebook if you beat the thirteen fixed encounters in the cave he gives you the bronze key. But I'm pretty sure that I've beaten all the thirteen encounters and he still says "Find the thirteen and come back". There's a button you have to push to avoid been carried into acid, so I beat those encounters first before I meet him. Also, I'm not searching for chests after the encounters because my inventory would clutter pretty fast. Does anyone who has done this quest know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

Strangely, the wizard does not seem to require you to actually defeat these encounters. For some, successfully Retreating is enough.

Just so long as they're all removed from the map. Which is good because I thought I was going to have to do them all over again.
