I'm having this really weird glitch in mm7 where item spawn from the heavens every time I load a save. to the point where i go to town and it's littered with gold and useless items all over the ground. has anyone else had this glitch or know how to fix it?

I mean it's pretty helpful for gold wise but it feels like cheating to me....

It is working as intended. I was surprised at such behavior first too. It is the way how re/spawns work in this game.

What was more surprising is seeing how tons of goblins fall from the sky in Harmondale area. Nearby chest had message in it, which said something like "monsters are everywhere, it is like they are falling from skies", so it is quite intended too.

We speak about the game, where money grows on trees (MM IV). In MM VIII there is artifact which grows on tree, so... You speak about this as cheating? You probably didn't see Well of Cheating yet... :))

Don't forget the message that comes up in MM V when you check the trees in *that* game.

Oh there is a funny thread about this. It seems that those items are phantom items. I already wrote about phantom horseshoes, this glitch seems to be from the same opera. There is better message in Vertigo's tavern :))

I vaguely remember running into the "items falling from the sky" bug myself once, but also have no idea what triggered it. That would be a fun thing to exploit if we could figure out how to do it...

Edit: seanlou - could you attach your savegame which has the item spawns in it? I wouldn't mind testing it to see if it happens on my install as well.
