Just downloaded the game and fired it up. Attacked a towns person by accident and now everyone won't speak with me in the first town and claim i'm a criminal. I uninstalled, installed the gray face patch and restarted. Tried talking to someone right off and they still say they want nothing to do with me and that I'm a criminal. Any way to reset this? I thought a complete reinstall would help but I guess not? Thanks.

You don't need to install additional patches, especially as this game already has the most important Grayface patches' bits in.

Also, if you saved game after attacking people, reinstallation will not help. You can visit temple and make some donations to raise your reputation. Few gold will buy your way out of potential prison time.

Yeah, the reputation stat. The only way to fix it is with donations to the church or with completing quests to raise your reputation.

Once you get Villagers to talk to you, a Bard can be hired to up the Reputation for a while if you feel you need to.

Go to the Clerk's office to pay off any fines you may have accrued.

Please be advised that different people wandering the streets may not talk to you while your reputation is too low, but there are ALSO wandering people that won't talk to you if your reputation is too high. For most of them, you should be able to threaten or beg (whatever the free options are) if you really want to talk to them. I wouldn't bother spending money bribing them; these people have more or less interchangeable information, so just find someone that WILL talk to you.

Fines were implemented in MM7. In MM6 you only need to donate to the church, and even if you unleashed Armageddon 6 times in a row, your sins will be forgiven.

Can you donate to the church if the priest has already been killed?

I can clearly see that you still didn't play Might and Magic VI :)

You can't kill priests, merchants, stable keepers, ship owners and such. They "hide" in their churches, shops, etc., and they are safe from any amount of Armageddons you can unleash on poor Enroth.

Edit: well, you can potentially kill them all by destroying the whole planet because of mismanagement of very important ritual. But planet will explode, so your characters will die forever too...
