jnathanxx1: Sorry I'm not so familiar with the way updates work on GOG.
I purchased the game on GOG and have it installed, I also have GOG Galaxy installed.
If there is an update am I going to receive a notification or something or is it going to install the update in the background without me knowing?
You'll get an update notice, a changelog with the date that the update was made live on GOG, and if you don't have updates disabled you'll get an update in the background via Galaxy :)

You see the gear icon in Galaxy? Click that and there's your settings :)

Also, check the individual game as well. You can see what settings you have for an individual game by going to that game, click on its box, then the "configure" option from the "More" menu :)
