Hello , currently there is an offer on Steam to purchase the 5 first x-com games for 5 $.
But i prefer to buy Gog games than Steam games!
So what did you do , dear community, or what would you do, buy them immediately or wait for a (i hope) possible Gog release?
I'll wait, I played the first three often enough not to need them desperately, and would much prefer a good DRM free product from GoG than having to use Steam, which I only have because of HL2, and will get rid of once I'm done with that.

I've had it for years, and I doubt that'll happen to me..
not just because I have more than valve games, but because they're all so much fun and the added value of mods is insane.
I think there's a solid chance of it appearing eventually on GoG. It's already been released in the same collection form on Gamers Gate, so clearly there is a desire to put the collection on platforms besides Steam.
I caved and spent my last 5 dollars on my paypal account on the pack. With that money i was going to buy a gog game but the pack was too much of a deal to pass imo. Anyway it's back to saving from me, dollar by dollar so that i can hopefully buy a gog game in the future.

I'm in the same boat. I spent my last $ on Penumbra: Black Plague. I've never played X-COM before. Is it anything like the Command and Conquer series?

Sorry, don't feel offended, it's the thought of X-com being as C'n'C that made me laugh :D
X-com is a tactical, squad-based strategy game with strong RPG element - and, at least to me, a good story

Yeah it's a pretty good, the one thing i don't like about X-COM: UFO defense is it's complete lack of tutorials or guidance. When i first started the game i had no idea of what to do so i got my ass kicked once the game progressed and the game started using those damn huge aliens. An online guide for me is essential before playing the game.
Its closest relation here on GoG would be Jagged Alliance 2, but with more strategy and no characters, the soldiers you get are random named, but you can always use friends, family etc., that way you might actually care when they get shot! I know I do... those poor guys (and girls!)...
