PoSSeSSeDCoW: Saying the new Wolfenstein is bad for not copying RtCW is like saying RtCW is bad for not copying Wolf3D or SoD. It doesn't make sense.

You know what doesn't make sense? Expecting whiny video gamers to make sense when they pick something to whine about. :D

PoSSeSSeDCoW: I don't get why people are criticizing the new Wolfenstein for not being like RtCW. A new Wolf game comes out every 7-9 years. Technology evolves, more gameplay mechanics emerge, and the tastes of gamers change. RtCW has little, gameplay-wise, in common with Wolf3D. Do I lambaste it for that? No. Will I lambaste the new Wolf for not having much in common with RtCW? No. At least, not until I have actually played it.

you're right in some way but the reason i said that is that usually great games come with great expectancy hense the diablo 3 and starcraft2 fever. It also come with big disappointment when a game doesn't equal or is worse then the previous one.
I've downloaded a demo yesterday and i have to say it looks nice and plays nice as well. So i'll be buying this one shortly :)

I'm pretty excited to pick this one up...
Unfortunately I'm just learning the ups and downs of house ownership whilst being a college student so the money isn't flowing in like it used to be :-/
Nothing will ever beat the originals (Wolf, Doom, etc)... I remember almost pooping my panties when walking around a corner and seeing this pixelated floating blob almost tear me a new one whilst waiting for the BFG to charge up! Yes it looks bad now (as do all old games), but I remember thinking back then- "man, this couldnt be any better!".
But the new one is good for other reasons. It wont be a classic, but is defintely worth the purchase. Long live Doom!

I haven't got the game yet, but I'm sure it will be awesome.
Wait, you got it for the PS3?

I never really liked Wolfenstein..
I like RTCW and RTCW:ET but otherwise I didn't enjoy any others, and this idea of adding magical powers to the main character is a little foolish..

Yep. It's a good game for a big screen, and I am not willing to move my desktop and plug it in to my parent's TV every time I want to play. I also prefer a DualShock to a 360 controller.
