Ghostfromthepast: Well i like the movie in general, even if it has little to do with the books.
It's not so much those differences but the atrocious acting and dialogue that is unbearable to me.

CrowTRobo: I was wondering if someone would mention this. I was going to but you beat me to it! Another good 80's fantasy film is The Dark Crystal.
You know I thought that was a 90's movie.
The Dark Crystal is a really good movie, mixing real actors and puppets really well. I actually picked it up on DVD a few months back.

The sequel was 90's. The star never even made it to 30's. He offed himself.

I didn't actually, they're from a list of my favorite films.

Yeah, I guess one might have something like that. I think I'll just steal that list and delete the ones I've seen, making it into a recommendation list =)

What do you think about the other Alien movies?
Real Genius.

Runner ups:
John Carpenter's The Thing,
Tron (surprised this hasn't been listed yet...).
Superman II
The Golden Child
Wargames
Critters
Ghoulies
Friday the 13th (and various sequels)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (and sequels)

I''d throw in The Black Hole, but it missed being an 80's movie by 10 days.

Alien is a classic! I could live without the rest.
I could list so many but managed to restrict myself to just ten, no particular order.

Withnail & I
Mississippi Burning
They Live
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
Once Upon a in Time America
Day of The Dead
Midnight Run
Videodrome
Drugstore Cowboy
The Terminator
Bladerunner (1982), which is also my favorite movie of all time :D Beautiful, beautiful movie.
