TheCheese33: What size do you think would be good to upgrade a PS3 to, if you're going from 20 GB? Also, I'm not sure if I need to get a specific manufacturer's hard drive that fits in the PS3, or if I just need to find any old FAT32 hard drive.
Any 2.5 Inch SATA drive will work, the formatting on it doesn't matter because the PS3 will format it how it likes, also the manufacturer doesn't matter to the PS3 either.
As for the size, that all depends on what you want to do with it. Just games off of the PSN, 120GB should last you quite a while... If you plan on adding your music or movie collection, that all depends on how large those collections are.
Personally I just say get a 500GB and call it good that you don't have to worry about it for quite a while. Also you may want to look into "PS3 Media Server" if you have a VERY large media collection. Also if you plan on installing Linux, keep in mind how much space you'll want for that.
Any other questions?
