There is no such thing as digital copy of original Sims 1. Not on EA store/Origin. All digital download sites have the Sims 2/3 and expansions.

I love the original Sims, the days when it first came out. I'd mess around for many hours days on this game, putting a pool in the water and taking the ladder off, making friends become enemies, tombstones/urn left from the dead and having spirits lurk around freaking my people.

How come there is no such digital copy out there? Could gog.com be the first? It'll be a gift to the digital gaming world!! Pretty PLEASE!!!

I prefer the original series over 2 and 3. Please hopefully someday it will happen, but why do I get the feeling, it would not happen in my lifetime?
I agree. The original one is the best.
Sadly, even if GoG got to release the Sims (after all they've partnered with EA on a series of releases), I fear we'd probably just get the original game sans expansions, just as has happened with all EA releases.

Sims doesn't quite compare to most ea games like alpha centauri. We're talking about a whopping eight expansions here, not one. GOG would definitely need a new price point of say $24.99-$29.99.
Yeah, the Sims 1 is by far the best.

Nah, The Sims Complete Collection had that price a few years ago. $9.99 shouldn't be too far off the mark today (disregarding EA's GOG release policy of not including expansions at all).

You'r dreaming. At least $20. The Aspyr mac port retail price is $39.99 on sale for $29.99

Ah, but the price of Aspyr's Mac ports aren't anywhere near a representation of the Windows version, at least from my observations (which may well include dreaming, I dunno).

$10 might be too low, but considering I paid €30 for it several years ago, I believe the price should have dropped quite a bit (retail and Steam often seem to follow the same idea of €1=$1).

But where was that? Retail? Those prices aren't indicative at all. Have you seen the Sims 2 prices on the EA store? They're still pretty high. No way Sims 1 complete would go anywhere near 9.99
But.. why not just buy it new from Amazon? It's only $118! ;)

Retail, yes. As far as I remember it wasn't a promo either (I remember waiting for the price to go down, but that didn't happen in time for christmas).

Anyhow, the discussion is moot. I would probably pay €15 if I saw the collection new at retail today, translating to a certain purchase at $15 on GOG (if that price point existed, and due to GOG not using localised prices) and less certain at €2.50 on Steam (due to Steam decreasing the value considerably for me).

Oh, you want to gift it to me ? How generous from you . :p
sims 1 for 10 bucks
and extra sims expansions complete for extra 10 bucks.

for the amount of content i declare that as fair price.
