As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it's easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. We've been running one day "Gaming Gem" promos for a while now to highlight some classic titles that don't get the love of some of our best-known blockbusters like Baldur's Gate or Duke Nukem 3D. To celebrate summer, for the next two weeks until July 25th, we're going to run a Gaming Gem promo every day, so you can rediscover these lesser-known classics! Grab that plastic toy shovel and dig out gem after gem over the next 18 days. We think every game we're going to be offering on our Summer GOG.com Gem Extravaganza will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

World War II history freaks, get your monies ready! We have something especially for you on the plate today. If you’re a bit tired of reading about the biggest conflict in the history of humanity, why not recreate it on our PC and not harm anyone? In [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/strategic_command_european_theater]Strategic Command: European Theater instead of being a cog of the war machine, you look at the big picture managing armies, negotiating politics, and making all the strategic decisions. It’s a very complex and detailed representation of a table top wargame, where you as the supreme commander of either Allies or Axis forces play through six campaigns from the very beginning of the conflict till its last days. Although this seems to be a game only appealing to “grognards”, the AI lets less advanced gamers play and enjoy the game. With multiplayer options allowing to play over Internet, hot-seat or the old school way “Play By Email”, the ones looking for a bigger challenge will find something for themselves as well.

Strategic Command: European Theater is 60% off for the next 24 hours and can be yours for only $3.99. Get it until tomorrow, July 25 at 5:59 a.m. EDT (9:59 a.m. GMT). If you already own this title or it’s just not your type of game, be sure to check back tomorrow for the last Summer Gem Promo!

dubsyubsy: I guess now he can take one of them and give it away to someone else, which shouldn't be hard, since he seems to really adore the game. :)
me, me, pick me! ;-D
Overall the Hidden Gem offers piqued my interests, but this game? No.
Who can give the most convincing argument for me to play this game? It looks unlike the usual type of games I play...

Khalaq: Funds, schmunds...

The game is on your wishlist and you can't afford it when it's on special sale? We can't have that, now, can we? Check your PM.

dubsyubsy: LOL I already got him, like 10m after his post :D
Haha, yes, apologies, I meant to post in the thread but was called away to things offline. A ridiculous amount of thanks to both of you, superbly generous. I'll let Khalaq decide what to do with the extra code, he deserves the kudos and rep for that one.
OK, so it turns out I have a gift copy of this game to give away. Optimally, I'd like to give it away to the person who wants it most. That being so, let's hear the explanations of why you want this game so much and why you should receive it instead of someone else.

The most convincing argument gets the prize, and feel free to be creative and/or humorous with your answer.

I would want to receive this game because it looks similar to Panzer General, which it's not, but I would still want it!

I wanted to buy it by myself, but my bank took 10 bucks from my account as an "annual fee" for running my account...

and also, this:

I'd really like to play it, because I love RTS's and tabletop style gaming, but alas, no paycheck until tomorrow.

And I'm a gladiator.

Doesn't sound like you are used to pay for bank services.
I pay around $14 per three months for having the account I have , including the standard services and benefits for that specific type of account.. (Writing checks and paying giro-cards costs extra)
I wouldn't mind checking this out. Really enjoy WWII stuff.

Sounds like you guys are getting screwed. We don't pay anything. You only pay if you want to upgrade your account to have features tacked on like mobile phone insurance, travel insurance, things like that. Unless you're a business. Then you have to pay extra for cheques.
