...but there's a catch, of course. She wants the game to have romance in it, and I need your help to find a game for her. Do you know any good games that include a really romantic, engaging story arc for the characters? I can assist her with the gameplay, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
For female to male, I might suggest:
- Baldur's Gate 2: Anomen.
OK, Ano might be bit of a whiner type of a male with "I have baggage from my family background and I am rather conservative on tops," but there is quite the nice complexity and depth to the romance, and she gets to make a knight out of him, at least.
- Neverwinter Nights 2: Bishop teaser romance (w/ Casavir actual romance as bonus).
Really, for complex, dark flame type of romances, there has never been in my opinion anything better written than Bishop, even if the full romance was cut short due to financing. As such, NWN2 is one of the rare games in my books that is more enjoyable to play as female protagonist, as a matter of fact. And cheers to that. :-)
- Dragon Age Origins: Alistair (for cutely courting type of a man; with baggage), Zevran (for easygoing romance).
Possibly complicated family histories, but really well voice acted and deeply written romances. Alistair is rather the knight in the shining armor type, sort of classic first lover type of a guy.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Garth - smart ass kind of a guy, what there is not to like about amiable battle of sexes.
