Metro09: feedback on these titles: Rocket Knight.

It controls really nicely. I actually like the play control better than the original. You no longer have to charge to boost. This makes it easy to do nice combinations of moves where you jump, dash, attack, etc. while picking up a string of gems along the way. It's very satisfying. Also, the screen isn't as crowded as it used to be, so it doesn't feel as claustrophobic as the original. The original Rocket Knight Adventures still has a certain charm over this one that largely comes from the colorful sprite animation. That gets lost in the 3D version, though I still like the 3D graphics ok. They are both good games. I recommend picking this one up.
Thanks guys for the feedback. Will probably pick them all up regardless if they are daily specials or not.

Metro09: Well I've yet to buy anything mostly because I already own the stuff that looked appealing and I'm still waiting for the possibility of even cheaper sales/dailies on a few titles. That said anyone with any feedback on these titles: The Maw, Sol Survivor (as opposed to Defense Grid which I already have), Aquaria, Avencast, and Rocket Knight.

Avencast is pretty good, if a little clunky on the controls. Well worth the few pounds sale price.
It's not Diablo, but it's not bad either.
3rd-person look-down in 3/4 view. Steer using W,A,S,D, turn camera view with middle-mouse and drag left/right. Spells can be activated by hot-key or combo direction/mouse clicks. Use Quest Items, not manually, but by "Use" key at the place they're needed - it's not really explained well in-game, but you'll pick it up quick enough.
Been playing a couple hours and am exploring the Crypt in the gardens of the Academy where you start. Lots of mini and side-quests to do. Level 6 so far. Which brings me to :
You get 10 points to spend building your character each level-up. HP, Mana, Soul Magic and Blood Magic, for your stats. Then there's the spell tree that also use these 10 points to buy your spells.
Dialogue is nice, as is the voice acting. Nothing really jars me to want to punch the screen, anyway :P Graphics are colourful and look good, if a little dated. You can save anywhere (so far, anyway), but there's a "bug", I suppose you'd call it - get killed while attacking, and when you reload, you're swinging your staff continuously when you reload and it takes a few tries to get that stopped so you can move around normally.
Other than those little niggles with it, it's enjoyable. Would be nice to get it here on gog, but for the price, can't complain.
Eh, finally they'll let me buy games on steam again. Had to contact their support and wait for a day to get a response, but at least it works now. I'm back in the game, baby!
As it is, at least. Nothing special today, gonna pick up TMI at least, nice price for a good set of adventure game episodes.
OFP: Dragon Rising will disappoint those who are looking for something similar to the original OFP, but may be satisfying to those who enjoy more traditional shooters. It's very linear. But definitely a good price for that.
I was very compelled to buy the Abe's double pack for that price, but I am probably going to pick them up from GOG sooner or later anyway. DRM-free copies still beat Steam copies even if they're 20$ vs. 2.50€, in my personal view, so I decided to pass.
My current tally is 15 titles bought in the Summer sale as of yet... 31 still on the list, deciding whether to buy later, and seeing if there's gonna be a daily deal.
X-COM is on sale for only USD3.74. Tempted to buy it, even though I know GOG will eventually get it into their catalogue. Sigh, dilemmas.
Osmos 75%
Numen 75%
TF2 66%
GTA IV 75%
X-COM 75%
Commandos Collection 75%
SFIV 75%
ARMA II 50%
TF2 for 6.75!!! UGH should I get it? Its funny, this is the one I've been waiting to go down and I don't think I want it anymore because I already spent too much :P Plus I'm running out of hard drive space here.

You have a Steam account but not TF2? I thought that was illegal.
Buy it. It's an awesome game.

Not just X-COM. It's all the X-COM games on Steam. So it's five games for that price. Which is crazy.
I won a tiny contest some member on GiantBomb had, so I chose to receive UFO Defense. After playing that for a bit I am tempted to just buy this package as well. Sure, from what I have been told two of those games suck, but then I am left with three awesome games for what I would have to pay for two liters of coke, one which I got for free.
Still waiting for Mount and Blade Warband and Borderlands to feature on the daily sales...
I'd have bought arma2 for 5 bucks just to satiate my morbid curiosity, for 20 there's no bloody chance
Meh, nothing...

I can get it cheaper at retail anyway. And unless there's some dumbfuck DRM going on in the retail version that is absent from the Steam version then I'm going to go with that.
Commandos games on Steam are working on Windows 7 64 Bit?
