Be very, very careful before you purchase a game download. from Steam!
I just bought "Blazing Angels 2" from Steam. It took TWENTY HOURS to download, and won't play. Lag, text in a font that cannot be read, utterly unplayable.
When there is lag, I suspect a resource problem.
The Steam sales page says:
System Requirements
Processor: 1 GHz Pentium® IV or AMD Athlon™ processor
Ubisoft website says:
In order for this game to run properly, your PC MUST meet or exceed these minimum system requirements:
Processor: 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon64
A week later, and zero response from Steam Tech Support.

Blame your ISP or something. It takes me way less time to download a similarly sized game (about 5 GB?).

It takes me wayyyy the heck longer, but i know my isp sucks balls so....

Back in March you indicated your computer was a Gateway 500c which had a 1.5GHz Pentium 4 processor, 256MB of RAM, 20GB hard drive when new . . could be wrong on that but I believe that is correct. . . =)
Have you purchased a new computer since then or have you upgraded any of the components on the 500c . . . especially the hard drive??
Are you still using the original OS and NIC card?

Something sure aint right, cos I got mirror's edge (7gb) in minutes not hours.
Personally Steam Support have always responded to me in 2-3 days... but i'm usually having trouble giving them money so...

My future internet service provider is my employer so I DO hope I get a decent connection.
(I just moved into São Paulo - SP and currently I don't even have electricity at home)

Overall I never had any serious problems with steam. That justifies my 60+ games there.

Unless you have upgraded the original video card, RAM and possibly the hard drive (since the game needs 6 GB's of the 20 GB's available on the 500c) I doubt the game will run on a Gateway 500c.
Definitely the 32MB NVIDIA Geforce2 MX200 AGP Graphics Drivers that came with the 500c would not run the game . . . =(

See, this is the problem. People blame Steam for crappy internet connections and third party games that they can't get to work.
That is why I always suggest that anyone who dislikes Steam, Impulse, etc to actually think about WHY. Maybe crap like this isn't the cause, but when you hear constant negativity, even the minor stuff can get blown out of proportion.

Video card, memory, and hard drives on this computer have all received MAJOR upgrades over the years.
How, exactly, does this excuse Steam from LYING about that level of processor the game will run on?
It's as if you had not read the OP. Compare what Steam says with what Ubisoft.
They even put the word "must" into ALL CAPS.
Okay, I thought about WHY. The conclusion is that the Steam sales page LIED about
the processor speed required.

Ubisoft gives Valve the system requirements for their games. Valve doesn't like make them up or anything. Any mistakes on the game page are the fault of the game's developer/publisher, not Valve.

Riiiiight. That would account for the glaring contrast in what UBI says on it's OWN WEBSITE about the game with what Steam says on the sales page.

Because clearly valve's out to get you. They lie to you on purpose so they can steal your money. They hate you, and only you, and they always will.
And of course it isn't your fault for not doing your research or anything.

It's not Valve's fault if Ubisoft have provided the wrong information. It is their fault for not checking but then that's a whole other argument.
